I'd bet/fold like $290 on the river but doubt i'd take your flop+turn line

only thing you beat is 45 or some 46hh/56hh type hand

I would raise 4x pre as my standard, but if he limp/folds his SB then I'd keep it at 3x
I have no problem with c/c 2, or bet turn if he checks back
the only card that can ruin your day is a king so he has 3-5 outs when he's behind and you have 2 outs when you're behind

In this spot I'd be betting the river for value.

He limp/called so that could be a weak ace, low PP, suited connector, broadway cards, etc.

We know nothing about the villain so I'm just roughly assuming.

I value bet about 2/3 flop expecting a fold a lot of the time. Turn I may bet a similar amount of chips so if I bet like 90 on the flop, I'd fire about 110 on the turn personally, again we have no reads so I'm just going to assume at this point that most $5 players are calling too much on the whole.

On the river I'd make a small, just about half pot bet as a blocking/ value bet. Easy fold if I get raised but it's less likely he has an ace now as there are two on the board and it's heads up. So get value from a hand like 55, 78, some random tens that he peeled with etc.

By checking here you often let guys check hands back that you could get small value from and make big bets when you're crushed.

So you stand to win small or lose big which is not a good way to play poker.

    Hope that helps.

all in man. your invested and it really is only $5. You took a bad approach if you saw he kept calling you IMO.

would you c/c the flop and try and c/c to showdown? or is it a c/f?

I'd have thought bet flop, if called you can shut down.
