Ummm, I can think of lots of hands that you beat, Ax being at the top of the list?

BTW, I'd bet more on the flop and turn so that both of you are committed on the river. 220 on the flop, then 500 on the turn, rest in on the river.

yes agree, the flop bet was to small, which in turn made my turn bet to small. i was trying to hard to make sure i got a call with a worse hand, which opp has a lot of the time. even with higher bets how do i call the river when i'm 95% i'm beat. thanks taipan.

Why do you think you're beat 95% of the time? Haven't you ever seen somebody play something like AJ this way, thinking that he's reeling you in? I'm pretty happy to call/shove over the river bet with the expectation that I'm good a lot of the time.

yea i guess better betting would of allowed me to find out, and if he did hit the flush or some sort of two pair, etc. at least i would of made him make mistakes throughout. i think i'm am just so used to draws taking the check call line on the flop, turn, then betting out when they hit.

i just feel most players raise after i bet the turn if their planning on shoving Ax on the river.

as played... call the river bet?

Getting 2:1 on the call I don't think I could fold the river as you played it.

so you think he's trapping with a weaker Ace that much? even with a flush draw out? i just find it so hard to believe that oponent check calls two streets then shoves the river with a weaker ace. maybe AQ but that seems like the only thing i'm beating. even with 2-1 odds i think i'm behind way more than that.

i guess again better bet sizing would of avoid this situation, but as played i just can't see him showing many hands i beat

As played I'd fold. but yes, you should bet closer to pot on the flop and shove the turn.

wow I don't even think river is close, I would be glad he bet so we can call and put lots of worse hands in his range vs if we bet.

That said, I also don't understand why you think Ax will call 150 but not 250. Don't play the hand to try and make one/two small bets from 77, play it to win a stack from the much more likely Ax.

List the hands he is calling with that you "want" a call from at 150 that don't call 250.

    MYSTERY LOCK

    I blame the upgrade

I guess I'm a nit but this looks flushy to me. or he hit two pair with A5.

The check-call, check-call, big donk on river is either a bluff or an "I got there" bet looking for a crying call. Not sure why Ax would turn his hand into a bluff, and there's not a likely straight draw on the flop.

Vs. an unknown (which is probably not the case here) def. call river and I don't think it's close either. Also bet flop bigger.
