Default QQ: A on turn, awkward stack size

If Big Stack big blind had not been in the hand, I would have just shoved the flop. I suppose I'm not folding, but I still need to protect against spades...on the other hand, betting will fold out all pocket pairs I'm crushing anyway. Should I just check and let him bet the river?

Don't know why you would shove 3k effective into a pot of ~800 if only SB was in the hand

As for the actual hand, I used to just shove in similar situations but they do seem to fold way too much. But it can't be much of a mistake having this in your range since your going to want to shove with your air basically every time. I'd also bet less on the flop because the board isn't that bad, you have position, and you can easily get your stack in by just betting ~60% on flop and turn

Not so sure about auto-calling a river shove since the villain just called a near pot sized flop bet for 30% of his stack on the flop OOP. Most of his draws are just shoving the flop and I doubt he'll turn showdown into a bluff

so you prefer checking it down vs. his smaller pocket pairs?

whatever you do I don't think the reason should be balancing your turn shove range on a scare card vs a random in the 10 RB.

I think after we check the turn goofs will shove because they think they have the best hand, they won't think about your calling range. And for sure there are a lot of people who will never semi bluff but will bluff the end, again esp after we check the ace. If we don't think he'll bluff the end shoving the turn has to be better.

re flop bet size, don't forget BB is in the hand as well.

The post about sizing was assuming he was called by BB. 60% on flop and turn leaves him with 3.3k into a 5k pot on the river
