    Default tough river spot 600nl

Villain in this hand is adam01, a good reg who usually plays 5/10. At this point in the session we have a pretty aggro dynamic, I've been 3 betting him a lot and he has been 3 betting more than normal for him. I have him 3 betting around 7% fwiw. His preflop stats are 25/20ish. Value shove river?

Seems like he would need to put you on some sort of bluff to call here? Do you think your dynamic with him is so that he will call you light enough here? I mean he is probably calling with all better and if he isn't you might want to re-evaluate whether betting here is good. Although it seems he rarely has better.

I wouldn't bet this one either.

Maybe I check back too many turns, but this is another spot I would check back this turn. It's pretty brutal if we get jammed on this turn. We're ahead sometimes, and a lot of our hands would check to see a river here (QJ, JT, KJ?, 9T,79s,TT) and then bet river and a lot of our hands that might be betting this turn probably would have raised the flop (8x, KQcc, AQcc).

I think this river is close. But from what I know of your image in general, I'd say he probably doesn't think you're bluffy enough to hero call you light here.

You guys may think wtf but this is really close to a fold pre.

flop float also kind of sucks.

It's a pretty easy check here, if you thought he was calling you with worse here you shouldnt bet the turn DUCY.

I can't imagine folding this pre given the dynamic OP described... In position? Almost always dominating him? I mean, I know adam's good, but I'd probably take this spot against Phil Ivey...

Can you explain why you think preflop is close?

I don't think they are that similar of spots.

The other hand is a singled raised pot. Our flop calling range has a ton of weak hands. The turn card was a brick, and his c/c range can also have enough weak hands in it that we might try to bluff him off.

Here, its a 3bet pot. Both of our ranges are probably stronger, and the flush card comes in on the turn, which potentially makes his river c/c range much narrower. It's also more likely he plays AJ like this in this hand, than it does in zook's hand.

Yah I agree with Marshall. Feel like AQ probably makes up the stronger part of my 3bet calling range (non pairs), and I'm also rarely folding this pre unless its vs a big nit.

I doubt there's a very significant skill level difference between Phil Ivey and someone like you or me. What do I know though.

I agree that the river is a check, but why is this a bad flop to float? Seems like we can scoop this on a bunch of turns, 7-9-10 that hits our perceived flop calling range and Q-A which actually do hit us.
    Family Cruise IMO
