A float and a triple barrel.. line check

Villain is 42/27/1.1 with 9.1 3b after 80 hands. His flat raise on button is 38%(8). I decided to bet the turn because I have seen him raise fd's ip earlier in the session and decided to rep it. The jack wasn't the greatest river coz i put him on a queen around that range.

Villain is 22/17/0.9 and 4.4 3b over 165 hands. His open sb percentage is 21. He had opened a bunch. I 3b him once before and let him have it 2-3 times. My intention was to float the flop and rep the ten if he checked or he bet. I would have preferred raising. When he check called i put him on an eight or an under pair to it.

#1 I dont like barreling into people who seem unlikely to fold, particularly with FDs/T9 getting there and no overcard to Qx rolling off. 42/17/1.1 means you should value bet that guy, not barrel three streets into him on 3 clean outs. River sizing is also too small to get him off Qx.

#2 Preflop fold > 3b > call imo. Postflop seems okay.

Damn goes to show what I know, I was thinking the exact opposite lol. Im quite sure you should be taking nutsinhos line though. I would think Hand one hits a lot of a BTN calling range pre with those stats. I agree with XTR that this is someone to Value Bet more? In hand 2 I dont think hes ever Checking the river with a strong hand here. Pre Id fold or 3 bet sometimes, given his open size. I would make my bet sizing a bit more though.

Hand 1 I wouldn't usually bet the turn vs this guy but if I did I'd definitely bet the river.

He's never folding a pair in the second one which means I'm not a big fan of your play.

your sizing is really small in 1, in general i dont think its a great bluff because villain is a tard. but its not bad, jus kinda a meh thing that we all do sometimes, id prefer to pick a pot to do this vs a better player tbh.

in hand 2 i def get what youre trying. i take the call sb open light, float flop, barrel turn and river line quite often and i think its a strong play vs the right people (higher sb open, bigger sample, high cbet, high fold turn %, etc). this is just a bad board to do it on as ppl have said and ill explain why.

you have to consider what the best line is with his various hands. what hands does he bet flop then call the turn with here? a lot of them are pocket pairs where he thinks (correctly) that he should not bet them because you call with better and fold worse, thus he is better off picking off your bluffs. I def take a bet flop c/c turn c/c river line with a ton of hands on a board like this in his position where the T is semi scary but really not going to get me to fold.

I find it tough to represent trips these days... If you really want to rep it reraise flop smallish and barrel.
Or bet bigger on scarier cards.

In hand 1 I get myself in a world of hurt barreling so i try not to do it. Especially not against someone whose stats look stationy. But I agree with the rest about the bet sizing and would bet something like 32-38 on the river.
