    Default FTR vs TwoplusTwo

Which forum offers better players in the MTT forum? Any general opinions? I've noticed that FTR has some damn impressive players, but I'm fairly new to 2+2. Any value in frequenting that site/ what makes you guys stay around here at FTR?

I've just been with FTR so long and am a pretty loyal guy. We've got some impressive players like Chardrian / Mcat / Drmc / fjuanl etc and they usually are pretty responsive on this forum. The only thing that irks me is the seeming lack of activity we have here; FTR is clearly more cash-game oriented than MTT. Whatevs, I'm here to stay.

2+2 has a lot more traffic but also a lot more crap you have to sift through. There may be less threads here, but most responses are well thought out by good players. Posts on 2+2 are often one word answers and theres very few really good players that actually make an effort

yeah I like to surf HS MTT over there but the other mtt forums just too much noise.

I wish the better players would post more often, because the admins and top players here are like, the nuts: Mcat, Drmc, Chardrian, Fjuanl, as well the guys from the other forums, most notably Fnord, nutsinho, Renton, Taipan, etc.

There aren't as many posts but the responses are always thoughtful and insightful; part of what makes this forum great is the militancy in not focusing on results and making the play that is the best long-term +EV.

Speaking of this silence around here, what's up with that?! Are we all so good that we only need to post 1 hand for every 10000 we play or something?

I wish I had enough insight into the game to spark some interesting convo around here.

Thanks for the props; I haven't been posting here as much as I probably should, but then again that's mostly because a) I've been too busy to play a lot recently and b) I'm still a beginner MTT player myself so I don't want to give anybody bad advice.

Regarding FTR vs 2+2, that's a bit of an age old debate. I've got 1600 posts on 2+2 but almost 10k on FTR; there can be no doubt that there's far more traffic on 2+2 than FTR but the signal to noise ratio is far better on FTR. There's only so many meaningless "fold ldo" replies that you can take before you wonder whether there is a better alternative.

I have this same mentality, and it worries me that there are a lot of quiet players lurking around here who think the same way.

I've probably read every post from past year or so, but I rarely reply because I'm scared of giving shitty advice and being chewed up by drmcboy and friends. lol. If we all think this way, the forum stays quiet, only the pros reply to anything, and FTR (especially the MTT forum) will become more monotonous and virtually die.

    How can we avoid this?

For one, I'm going to start posting more hands and other things just to get some activity started. I don't care for 2+2 because of said noise, and I really want FTR to come back to life.

    Anyone wanna join me?

I'mnew we could roast you. Have an "everybody slam I'mnew thread", then after a day or two and 68 posts insulting everything from your poker skills to your deoderant, you won't give a flying crap what any of these "pros" say about your momma and you won't mind giving bad advice now and then because the guy probably said you smell like tuna or old shoes.
    Lurkers de-cloak now!
Just let 'er go and have fun! If you post something dumb, you know you're gonna get called on it. SO? You're not gonna die! It's not like drmcboy is coming to your house to tell your girlfriend you're gay, he'll just tell everyone here.
If folks can't speak their minds on the internet, they haven't really thought about reality and how your online identity shields you from everything.

    EXACTLY! lol

I want all of the lurkers to break loose and start talking shit more often. Clearly, I'm talking more shit (see the A6o in BB hand posted by Taipan).

Oh and Drmcboy, you're a great critic, but you're also one very very large blunt assault weapon. I appreciate it to be honest. Keeps me in-line when I run hot.

FWIW I'm down with posting more. I should be starting a micro/low-stakes MTT blog/operation soon, god willing, with a renewed commitment to posting up hand histories and such. Obv I'll post whatever "tough spots" I have in this forum, and link to it from my OP; but I'll be sure not to flood the forum with em.

    Anyhow.... when it's up.

I used to post a ton. I rarely do now. Some of it is because I answer so many posts at pokerpwnage. Some of it is because I don't want everyone to know how I play as I start to get recognized more often. And some of it is because I talk with a group of players whenever I am playing so I can just run hands by them rather then posting them here, which is what I used to do to get feedback.
