I was confident my hand was better than his, but I'm not sure if I went about sucking money out of him the best way. Are there any better ways of getting it in here?

Well it worked in this spot, so that's good. I would typically go allin over his 210 if I was happy to see him fold. I think if you really want him to call and are not folding this hand no matter what comes the rest of the board, 3 times his raise is good. You might even do like a 550 or 575 to make it look a little weaker, but I think at this level folks are either planning on folding to a raise or calling regardless of the amount most of the time, so it probably isn't worth sweating.
I like the almost time-out like I'm really thinking hard > shove.

I'm shoving over the 210 if I am continuing.

Why would you guys shove instead of 3-bet?
  5. #5
Because your effective stack is only 5x the 210. Fwiw you would be 3bet shoving.

shove, mostly because they play you made looks stronger than shoving. Either he'll notice or he won't and if he won't, it doesn't matter and you may as well put the money in. if he has a low PP he might fold to a Ax or Qx turn after calling this bet.
