Default 55 late position preflop situation

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, 1.2 Tournament, 40/80 Blinds (8 handed) -

    UTG (t600)
    UTG+1 (t1970)
    MP1 (t1510)
    MP2 (t3830)
    Hero (CO) (t1310)
    Button (t860)
    SB (t980)
    BB (t2440)

    Hero's M: 10.92

Preflop: Hero is CO with 55
    3 folds, MP2 calls t80, Hero calls t80, 1 fold, SB calls t40, BB bets t320, MP2 calls t240, 1 fold, SB calls t240

i often run into situations like these.

Should this be without any further information a fold? The BB decides not to check but to raise the hand.

    hero?

Open fold the first time around with 16x BB and a limper in front. You only have implied odds to play for set value if nobody raises, which with three players still to act is a bit of a bold assumption.

I like to have 40x to open limp low/medium pocket pairs and 20x to call raises. 30 and 15 are OK dependent on position, hand strength and raiser range/style. Here you only have 16x for the original limp (miles off), with the raise the max payout (for just 1 person stacking off, unless it's button who you have covered) is 9x. Closing the action and with multiple callers you definitely only need the bottom of the scale (15x), you can probably go down to 13x with a good chance of multi-way action, but you are still a way off.
