Myself I raise it up to like 1800 and expect to call if he comes over the top. Not that I am a master at the SnG's.

The object is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck."

Shoving this straight away would be what a FISH play IMO. Definitely put in a raise to 1500 - 1800. If they come over the top its almost always a call unless you know that they are super tight.

I would raise to about 1400-1500, calling shove is totally read dependant

I don't think that shoving this would be -EV but I don't think it's the best play. Basically the only hands that will call your shove are those that beat you. I would make it 1500 to go and take it from there.

Shoving is def. +EV but I raise smaller. Why not just minr unless we have reads?

making it 1800 is bad, 1500 slightly less bad but why? we have a good playable hand IP. I think that's true at any 10+BB stack size, but for sure here where raising that much probably means we have to just gamble off the rest of it. Are you hoping he'll fold better if we make it 1500? Is > 3x your standard HU raise size?

1k is fine, fold to a shove. If he's re shipping a lot, either limping or open shoving is better.

Generically if you raise 4.5x the BB with any hand, you are probably making huge mistakes.

Oops, I misread the blinds, thought that they were 300/600. Given they are 200/400 I agree with your raise to 1k

I min raise here. I would only 3x or 4x BB raise with premiums unless i flat or limp for deceptive purposes (20% of time). Good heads up play involves post flop play not so much pre-flop.
