    Default $6.50 Turbo SNG

    flopturnriver.com/Online-Poker-Tournament-6041.html

Got knocked out in 4th place, decided to post this because it's something like my 5th in a row out of the money. I figure it's better to review than to play one more for now.

I know there are a few spots with questionable calls, particularly against very-short stacks pushing all in; I'm rarely sure if I should call with weak hands when the shove is less than a minimum raise.

    Feedback is appreciated.

Overall you are playing good and aggressive but I think you need to re-evaluate your opening ranges, particularly from early position as you are open raising far too wide in my opinion. If you don't already have SNG Wiz then get it (it has a 30-day free trial), it is essential for evaluating these sorts of spots. You'd be surprised how hands that are a shove from the button become a fold even one position earlier.

    1. KQo - no need to raise so much. 80 is fine.

    2. KJo - fold this hand from UTG. I'm looking for 77+, AJ+ to raise in this spot. As played, fold to the short stack shove and cold call. If it was just the short stack shoving I would call but I am spooked by the other player being in the hand, we are very likely behind his range.

    4. TT - I would bet the flop a little harder, say 225-250 or so, your small bet gives opp too good odds to continue with a draw.

    5. A9s - fold this from UTG

    7. 55 - fair enough because the blinds are shorter than you

    8. J7o - wow, is this a misclick preflop raise? I'm folding this very fast from UTG+1.

    10. KQo - haven't run this in SNG Wiz but I think it is an -EV shove. KQo isn't really that strong a hand when you have three players left to act.

    12. J9s - suspect that this hand is a fold as well

    13. K2o - definitely a fold from UTG, I know you're short but there will be better spots than this

J 9 SB (Hero's M = 6.45; f+f+F) (between 15 and 16) - easy shove here with an above average hand and folded to in the SB. You shove marginally better hands from much worse position, why fold this?

    17. K2o - ouch to the river bet, I definitely check this one down, you don't have chips to piss away like this, you need to save them to maximise your fold equity for preflop shoves.

    18. 64s - just fold this and let the BB take the short stack out, if the big stack shoves over here you just wasted 215 chips

    19. QTo - haven't run this in SNG Wiz but I think it's fine, unlucky to run onto a monster hand

A 3 SB (Hero's M = 0.27; r+f+f) (between 19 and 20) - I would call with this hand given how short you are, you can't afford to fold your SB

    Thanks for the input.

I've downloaded SNG Wiz and I've looked at it a few times, but it's a bit confusing; I'll try working with it again soon.

As far as the review goes, a lot of the questionable hands like 10, 12, and 13 were pushed because I noticed I haven't been stealing blinds and being as aggressive as in my more successful SNGs. I'm probably going to review a few more of my older ones to work on my range and stuff.
