    Default Sup3r's Daily Hand Review

Sup. Incase you don't know me, I'm a heavy lurker and sometimes poster. I'm on FTR quite often but don't post as much as I should. I wanna start posting ONE hand daily (maybe more) and hopefully get some insight or tips on it. I lost my job (big surprise lol) so now i have batshit time to work on my poker game. Currently I want to cushion the BR a bit before I dive in and change things up and try to improve my game. Little things about me:

I 10 table 100NL 50BB tables while bumhunting. I play pretty straightforward, run something like 19/16ish and make monies off fish and lose to rake playing against the regulars.

I'm also interested in doing HH review of teamview/skype or doing sweat sessions with anyone interested.

With all that being said, will start posting HH now.

Villain is pretty straightforward and is a bit on the tighter side postflop when getting to showdown. I've seen him PFR a pretty wide range from EP and he is definitely capable of double barrel bluffing on this spot. Post flop I've never seen him triple barrel bluff or bet the river without the nuts.

The only reason I called flop is because I plan on bluffing on later streets quite often. Since we are 80BB deep, it gives some wiggle room to mess around post flop and I dont expect to get called without a monster and I still have some outs to a straight.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    BB ($95.20)
    UTG ($80.10)
    MP ($33)
    Hero (Button) ($88.50)
    SB ($28.35)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 5, 4
UTG bets $2, 1 fold, Hero calls $2, SB calls $1.50, 1 fold

    Flop: ($7) 2, 3, Q (3 players)
SB checks, UTG bets $4.50, Hero calls $4.50, 1 fold

    Turn: ($16) 9 (2 players)
UTG bets $10 Hero wants to raise/fold around $27

What I'm most interested in is my line of thought ok for wanting to semi bluff here.

Okay so this guy opens fairly wide from EP, and is pretty nitty post flop. If he's opening a wide range and playing straight forwardly, and your image is decent then 3 betting pre here looks better to me. I'd imagine we'll get folds a pretty sizable chunk of the time provided he isn't stationy to 3-bets and not be in a disasterous situation with this hand should he flat oop.

When we flat here we can expect a multiway pot a good amount of the time especially on these 50bb tables where I'd imagine there are a ton of loose fish. This is a pretty good reason to want to flat here, especially if the bb is bad. The drawback to this though is that, we just wont have much FE postflop multiway when we make draws, and 54s is rarely going to make really strong draws (flopping dominated shitty fds and oesds.) Consequently, being multiway espcially with sb can suck here given his stack size and we'll be unable to take advantage of utg's stright forward nitty postflop nature with fish in the pot also, since his c betting ranges will likely be stronger on a lot of boards, and we'll have to worry about a tard behind us not folding what ever he's flopped. If we were deeper, say maybe even 100bb deep here I'd like a flat more since our implied odds vs both utg and any fish thatcome along will be better. I don't think we can justify flatting preflop though 80bb deep here with a SC this crappy.

As for postflop, given your description, I'm floating here 100% and expecting him to c/f the turn to us a lot given he's stirghtforward and we've flatted an utg raise and a c bet. If he's the barreling type then I defo don't want to flat this preflop. Given his range is likely fairly strong on this turn, I'm only making a play here if I feel he can fold Qx and I'm not confident in this. I'd prolly jus fold the turn now, an ace can be a scare card for a lot of his value range (Qx that isn't AQ) so that leaves us with 4 outs we really wanna hit and we're not deep enough to have the implied odds to call the turn. We also rep pretty much exclusively 22 33 99 when we semi bluff this turn so meh, I don't think he folds a Q enough. Like I say, if he's barreling a decent frequency here then I don't mind a turn raise too too much, but think you defo shouldn't be flatting a hand that flops so meh 80bb deep if he's gonna barrel you and leave you no oppertunities to gain FE without risking a ton of your stack usually with minimal equity and a bleh draw at best.

So yah, those are my ranting thoughts on this hand.

Didn't get into any really post worthy interesting spot today. I was going over my HEM so far this year stats/winnings and it has been really disappointing. Heres the garph:

After over half million hands this year, I've concluded i suck bad at poker and most of my $ comes from RB.

I've started a different approach to poker and thinking more before almost every action and hopefully it will improve. Thinking about dropping down to 50NL for a bit while I mess around and try to improve my game.

Current goal is to get better at putting villain on a range postflop and finding good spots to pick up pots when the board runs disadvantageous to his range. Currently, I do a decent job at putting ranges when it comes to turns and rivers but lack the balls or w/e it is needed to take the proper action and pick up pots. Right now I rarely bluff and just give up post flop too often.
