    Default KK early SNG

Hey, I just wanted to run this hand by you guys. Im pretty sure I played it ok, but i just want to check xP

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, 2.25 Tournament, 15/30 Blinds (8 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Hero (UTG) (t1485)
    UTG+1 (t2835)
    MP1 (t1455)
    MP2 (t1380)
    CO (t1500)
    Button (t1395)
    SB (t1470)
    BB (t1980)

    Hero's M: 33.00

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K, K
Hero bets t90, 2 folds, MP2 raises to t180, 1 fold, Button calls t180, 2 folds, Hero raises to t400, 1 fold, Button calls t220

    Flop: (t1025) 5, 8, Q (2 players)
    Hero bets t1085 (All-In)

    Total pot: t1025

reads were that MP2 was a little tighter than button, so when he folded to my RR, i wasnt too worried about what button had. especially considering MP2's min rr looked dangerously like a high pocket pair, and i didnt want to get eaten alive by AA, but at the same time, i couldnt just drop KK

on flop, i figured that with an overpair to the board, I was in pretty good shape, but the two hearts out there meant i wanted to protect my value, and so I should not give villain odds to call, if he had a FD. Plus it was early in the tourney, so I wanted to take fewer chances, and just buy the pots i was reasonably confident i had.

button was mostly a weakish player, flat limping, and limping raises with mediocre hands

    thoughts?

With the 3-better and cold caller I would raise a little more preflop, make it 500-550 to go. That way your flop shove will be about 3/4 of the pot rather than slightly more than it, making it more likely that you'll get called (which is what you want). Other than that it's fine, nh.

If you ran into AA here that's just bad luck, at a $2.25 (and many higher buyins besides) never ever fold KK preflop!

yeah, didnt actually run into AA on this one. It was a bad beat vs QJ when the turn showed a J. but hey, thats 20% for you, right?

in other news, im finally out of the red! (for this buy in)

I know I have a lot to owe to you, taipan, and the other great minds here. i still have a ways to go before my online net profit is positive, but hopefully im on my way there.

    as always, thanks.

Keep on making good decisions and the profits will flow over the longer term. Trust me!
