    Default Please review $1.20 tournaments

Posting one winner and one loser. This is my first day doing SNG's, so feel free to tell me I'm doing it all wrong. These are $1 + $0.20 single table SNG's at Stars.

I'll start with the winner. One note here is that in lucky #13 I mashed the wrong button and called the all in bet with the poor hand and got and great flop.

And here's the loser. First hand here I think possibly I was too aggressive playing a pretty crappy hand early on.

    $1.10 Buy In

    Any advice greatly appreciated!

Edit: sorry, guess I can't insert links into my posts yet. So much nicer than inserting the whole hand history in the post text though...

    welcome to FTR.

    hand 1: Fold Preflop.
Hand 2: Just shove over preflop
Hand 3: Don't min raise make it ~3XBB
    Hand 4: Fold
    Hand 5: Fold
Hand 6: Fold, In general very rarely open limp.
Hand 7: Don't Min raise, if your raising make it at least 2.5XBB, but Fold here UTG.
Hand 8: Fine, especially at $1
between hand 8-9: you open raised A10 UTG, but folded CO? i think you can raise here.
Hand 9: DON'T LIMP, fold here UTG.
Hand 10: Do not raise here just check, especially not a MIN bet!!
Hand 11: When Blinds are this high never complete or limp, raise here with 55
Hand 12: Don't min raise make it ~400
    Hand 13: misclick, obv. fold.
Hand 14: Try and get out of the habit of min raising
Hand 15: I would raise this to 600, or fold.
Hand 16: min raise's probably work well, but its a bad habit to get into.
between 16/17: you open folded AK?????
    hand 17: Don't complete, Raise
Hand 18: your min raises seem to get called lots why not value bet higher, i make it 500
Hand 19: Again no min raises especially with limper.
Hand 20: i just fold here.
Hand 21: Don't complete, as played bet less on flop, why the over bet.

i'll have to look at the rest later, in general limping and min raising are two thing you do way to much.

That's great, thanks much for going over that. I'll stop the min raising thing, just laziness mostly since there's a big button for it. Is there a way to configure PokerStars with an easier way to bet more or do you just type it out when you play?

Went over hand history in PokerTracker and looks like I didn't fold AK preflop between 16/17, no one called my BB.

    Thanks again, really appreciate it!

tourny 2: hope this helps a bit

keep posting tournies you'll notice the difference

    Hand 1: Fold Preflop.
Hand 2: i guess limping is ok, as long as you don't lose lots of chips on a mediocre hand.
Hand 3: get some value here make it ~140, almost all hands you beat are going to fold to this shove.
    Hand 4: Just fold preflop.
Hand 5: limps not terrible, but i tend to let it go in MP
    Hand 6: raise 99.
Hand 7: i shove this or at least raise then shove most flops.
hand 8: don't call here very bad reversed implied odds.
between 8-9- AJ you proably have like 4 BB get er in even against a raise.
Hand 9: just open shove if your playing especially if your planning on calling because at least you have >0 % FE.
Hand 10: why are you flatting, SHOVE! and expect to be called by worse a high %, as played do a stop n go and shove that flop.
between 10-11 shove A4 on button with 7BB
Hand 11: SHOVE ! what are you waiting for to raise.
    Hand 12: good shove
