i took the hand down here. 2 questions: do we ever 'take advantage' of our position here and just call, or is the board too dangerous in this instance? secondly, is the bet sizing ok?

Given the situation, ie. six callers to the flop, i think your flop rr was fine. i dont know how PS 6.5 games play, but with that many callers, theres enough danger of someone having a FD, or maybe even a j9/97/67. If its anything like FT 2.25 sngs though, those are exactly the sorts of hands people love to limp with into multi-way pots.

if anything, id say you should have raiesd preflop maybe, to try to thin out the competition a little, and maybe even make any callers more committed to the pot, if you hit your set, but I could be results biased. given the board, im almost surprised nobody was on OESD/FD/OESFD

i think a better question is how you would have played the hand, if you had gotten any callers. you already had 2/7 your stack in on a good hand, but there are plenty of hands that could have easily improved

but anyways, im still pretty new here, so i could be a little off.

    cheers!

You played it fine, nh. I think the raise was definitely the right thing to do and the sizing was good too. Unfortunately you're not going to get paid every time you hit a set.

I definitely wouldn't raise preflop; even calling is a little marginal because of the three players still to act, but it's OK I suppose.
