calls fine as long as your not stacking off with TP.

I'd probably just ditch this. What sort of flop do we want to see with an UTG raiser and that many players in the pot, how often does it come and how many chips do we need to win if it does come to make calling worthwhile? Plus, if we hit a K or Q high flop we're not going to just give up if somebody bets so we may end up losing chips on a one pair flop as well.

If this was suited I could see the case for calling and not stacking off with top pair.

meh reads on utg would help but KQo has some reverse implied odds and we're pretty out of position in what would be a 6 way pot. Top pair is a pretty awful hand in a 6 way pot, try to play something with more nut value. I'd rather have suited connectors, pairs, and suited 1 gaps (depends on how stackable opponents are when we hit) like 86s if I was calling here.
That said calling KQo is not a horrible mistake until you make it one by overplaying your hand postflop with Top pair. This requires reads for postflop so you can get value out of the tards while folding if utg or another tight player starts putting money in the pot.
I just fold and move onto another hand most of the time.

@ fulksy, we lose at least one bet on Q or K high and KQo rarely flops better than top pair. Also that one bet is pretty huge in a 500 chip pot. And we can't call and check fold to one 300-400 bet unless the action behind us gets scary and then we are semi commited. if utg or other tight player bets 300 on Kxx we:
(assuming no scary action 1 caller at most)
we call pot is 1100 we have <psb behind
we fold (why did we call pre)
both are shitty choices so I guess we may as well just save 60 chips pre.

Im folding. Id rather call with a suited connector or pp in this spot.. hands like kq-kj dont play that well in multi way pots especially against an utgs raising range. U could make an arguement for a squeeze if u had a read that UTG was raising a ton of pots.

Fold. This doesn't play well. Multiway pot

If you call, you will be tempted to call another bet with top pair. I would let it go. Only +EV situation here is to get a straight or flush which will likely take more chips to develop. Odds are great but you need to have a +EV overall to make the call profitable long term.

What he said. This isn't such a good situation to call in.
