Default AKo - check raise on turn

Did I play this about right? Should I 3-bet it pf or just call on the button? If I 3-bet I can more convincingly rep a big pp I suppose. No reads or meaningful stats on opponent at this point. This is the 4th hand. I'm guessing no one is going to call the c/r on the turn, right? I thought about it. Does anyone just take a free card on the turn? I was 90% sure I would just take down the pot after picking off his supposed c-bet there.

i don't really like standard 3 betting because of the size of his raise, might seem a bit early but because of the size of his raise i don't hate shoving pre, but i think callings fine 2 but I'm just giving up on flop without great reads, it does seem like he has nothing because you would think he would check a jack on a pretty dry board, so hes pretty limited to PP's and A9, but lots of crappy players don't mind getting it in with any PP on a paired board. plus because of the preflop raise size, the flop and potential turn bet is just going to be to high of a % of your stack to find out where your at.

Ha. It didn't really even occur to me to fold the flop. That would have saved me a bunch of chips.

Yep, definitely fold the flop once you miss. As played, definitely check behind on the turn and take the free card. If you have a read that opp c-bets a lot I actually don't hate the check-raise but I tend to just be a bit weak sauce and check behind.

As played, I actually don't hate the check-raise on the turn (particularly if you have a read that opp c-bets a lot) but I tend to just come over a bit weak sauce and just check behind.

Thanks everyone. Taipan, you don't hate my bet on the turn or you don't hate my opponent's check-raise?

Sorry, I don't hate your bet on the turn (and whether or not I hate opp's check-raise depends on what he had! )

we have 38% on flop vs 77. Flop and turn look good to me.

Pre I would just assume he's a clown and make it 450 and shove most flops, you could check back dry flops you hit. If he had made it something reasonably like 80 I would usually flat.
