Default Set no good on the river. Bet sizing?

I don't know if I played that bad from the aspect of my bet sizing. The donks to my left go wild on the river and I have to fold. Sould I raise preflop? I checked the flop cause there is only one draw and another 4 people to act, so I suppose someone will bet. I think that was a mistake to begin with. By betting I might have discouraged the two players with the spades on my left. I half pot on the turn so I will get some value from draws and dont scare all the action. I think I should bet 2/3. River bet is for value from Ax, two pair, even smaller set type of hands with the intention to fold to a reraise.

Is my analysis of my mistakes good, or this hand doen't worth a comment from the masters? :P

I would go for turn c/r but I don't think you played it bad. I would not fold to one player on river but folding here looks good.

I might bet the flop for value. I see the merit in checking here, since someone will almost always bet, but on the other hand if you just go ahead and donk-bet it you'll almost always get some callers and you can build the pot, hopefully to get it all in on the next two streets. I think with a family pot you can also bet more on the turn and still get at least one caller. Plus you want to price out back door flush/straight draws now.

I agree with the shove and call on the river you're almost certainly no good.

Oh, and I can't decide about raising preflop. You really don't want to play JJ against 5 people, but on the other hand you don't necessarily want to stick in a 3-bet big enough to chase people out and then have to fold when overcards come on the flop. I think most days I'd probably 3-bet it to 300 or so to try to narrow the field.

Yes you are right, 3-betting wouldn't be a bad idea, only at these stakes it does not accomplish an isolation much. I like the c/r better on the turn, wich also accomplishes the pricing out.

turn sizing could use a significant increase in chips
