They Stole My Cat!
So, to cut a short story long;
This past summer, whilst I was still attending University, my mother and step-father started to become friendly with a local cat that would come begging for food. On rare occasions the cat was allowed into the house to help calm my mother's musophobia.
When I arrived home from University to find this intrusion I was initially upset, partly due to my allergy to all animals,
especially cats. However, it didn't take long for Tiberius (my name for him) and I to become best of friends and we saw
each other every day. We cured each others boredum using nothing more that a piece of string.
I went away on a 4 months long trip and upon my return for the Christmas season my mother informed me of some terrible news about Tiberius:
(Whom we now know to actually be called Gregory and belong to a neighbour. However, the neighbour, an elderly
lady, gave us permission to look after Gregory due to him running away after she got a new cat which he apparently didn't appreciate. Our next door neighbour also offered to take some responsibility of care as he has had flirtation with Gregory also, along with his son. They have been feeding him cereal based "cat food" and Gregory once brought a dead bird into their house)
The next door neighbour's son has moved away to an adjacent town with his long term girlfriend, german shepard dog, other cat and has also decided to take Gregory.
I am extremely upset; I also have the capacity to be angry but I am trying to channel both of these emotions into
affirmative, posative action.
The way I see it I have limited options and I would like your opinions, input and expansions:
Try to find the address of the theif and steal back my cat. However, my mother is reluctant to help with the finding of the address even though she would be an invaluble asset in doing so (she is also very emotional about this event but she seems reluctant to take posative actio). So without her help this might be quite difficult.
Involve the police; it wasn't his cat to take.
Write a letter to him, stating both my legal and emotional stance on the matter.
Wander around the adjacent town and hope to stumple upon Tiberius.
Get over it and/or get a new cat.
Start a national medial campaign.
