Default My god, it's full of Stars!

For those of you that play both FT and Stars, which one makes you more money, and why?

I've played a few thousand SNGs on Full Tilt, mostly $10+1, and have recently started playing on Stars as well.

I realize my sample set is small, having only played a handful of tournaments on Stars, but the quality of players seems significantly different. The $10+1 tournaments on Stars seem to have many, many more players that, well, are just awful at poker.

Specifically, FT tourneys tend to have mostly tight-weak players. The donkeys are there, but not in large numbers, lucky to have one or two in a SNG. In a Stars tourney, I'm seeing raises called by 4-5 players pre flop in the early stages, and people consistently stack off with any piece of the flop.

    Anyone else notice this?

What would your honest advice be if i were to switch to Stars too as i wanna play SnG's and try to make a regular wage from it?

I've played FT and PS, but mainly PS. I refused to play on FT when they wouldn't give me rakeback. Back when I was a fish I signed up through an affiliate deal.

You need to compare play at the same time of the day and on the same day. Sundays on PS are like heaven on earth. Few regs, lots of really, really bad poker players ... if you can call them that.

Since I mostly play the $16s these days, I would say that there are usually one or two really bad players on Stars table. Often these guys have no hope of winning unless they chip up at the start and make everyone's life at the table a misery.

IMO FT ftw at the moment. The give you 27% rakebizzle, plus you get the Iron Man bonus 1/2 way through the year. If you play enough volume that works out to $100 a month + the 27% + FTP points! FT kicks PS in the b*llocks right now, this coming from a Stars fan. Personally I think the level of play is roughly the same btw.

Did you get out of an affiliate deal? I've e-mailed them many times trying to get rake back with no success.

You used to be able to email them and ask them to switch you to a rakeback deal, but they stopped doing that. I did email them and told them I'd be switching all my play to PS unless they offered me something. They wouldn't sort something out, so I took my business elsewhere. Just before Xmas I got an email from them saying I was eligible for a 27% bonus that was recurring if I took it up and earned a certain number of points each month. At least I think that was the deal. It was basically an offer of rakeback but through FT themselves.

In the end I decided I liked Stars support a lot more plus I'm just not interested in FT offering me a deal now. 6 months ago, I may have accepted the offer. It's too bad for FT, because they would have earned 73% of $2k in rake I have paid this year....
