    Default icm split - dealmaking

    ok, i'm an icm fish
i was 2nd in chips, 3 left - 3rd wasn't in danger of blinding out or anything
everyone wanted a deal, we took the FTP icm option. I ended up with like about 1/3 of the way between 1st payout and 2nd payouts.
    Sound about right?

FTR 500, 77 runners. Not talking much money - just realised i should have played for first and got an FTR hoodie...

    cheers for the link
sorry i wasn't that clear. When you go into deal-making mode on FTP it gives suggested splits as starting points, one is called an "ICM split". I was wondering if this is a good option, i guess this depends mostly on whether you think you have an edge over the players left.

anyway, following your link then entering the numbers (rough, from memory) from the situation it seems to match pretty closely.

Ill admit I don't know much about ICM calculations. But I understand the basic concept and the ABC's of the idea.

But basically, from what I understand, it negates skill. It's strictly a mathematical model and it doesnt' account for anything else except chip counts.

If you think that everyone is about equal, skill-wise, at this point in the tournament, it's probably a good deal. If you think that even one of the players was weak, I would go for the win.

Hell yeah, I have mine and it's badass!
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.
