If you shove there's too big a chance someone will call with 8x. I'd just check, hoping for a free card.

    reads/stats help, I'd either c/f or c/shove.

Generically shoving pre stopped being a good play in this spot in 2006 or so, esp in an SNG where a flip is no good for you.

betting 3x the pot looks like exactly what it is. I'd say never do it, or just do it trying to disguise big hands vs suspicious players. But lean to never.

You don't really want a free card here because you have no idea what to do with your hand when you hit it unless you get there with a heart. Most of the time you get action you're going to be chopping and sometimes getting free rolled/ more or less dead to the nuts.

I think I thought all that subconsciously it's just a c/f seemed weak and there was no way I was getting a free turn.

The other thing is stack sizes are awful. I could only really check shove a smallish probe looking bet but a bet of any decent size and I'd probably have little to no FE.

And yeah getting free rolled is a nightmare.
