    Default 66 sb 5 left

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 6.5 Tournament, 100/200 Blinds (5 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    BB (t2870)
    UTG (t1375)
    MP (t4270)
    Button (t1340)
    Hero (SB) (t3645)

    Hero's M: 12.15

Preflop: Hero is SB with ,
    3 folds, hero?

bb is solid and sensible. not involved in many hands. would you just open shove here? standard raise seems exploitable.
but then im not sure if shoving looks weaker and encourages 'hero' calls with hands we dont want to see (do we not?) - k10, jq and so forth..

2 short stacks to consider too which can affect the dynamics.. i d like to think he was aware of them..

I would raise it 600 and take it from there

BB has 14BB, IMO you should shove. If he wants to Hero call with KTo, good luck to him. I'll make a note and try to adjust against him in the future.

I agree with Naka, considering that the antes have kicked in, opp's effective stack is only around 10x BB so I'd just shove it and be done with it. The problem with standard raising here is that if we get shoved over we pretty much have to fold due to the ICM effect, whilst if we open shove, opp will fold a lot of hands with which he might shove over (if that makes sense).

Given the stack sizes I would be very surprised if BB pushes over without a decent hand

I would probulary bet 1K because it would eliminate alot of hands and show him that I am willing to go all in with the hand I have and to put some serious thought to what I might have.
    You can cash with skill
You can go deep with skill
    You can't win without luck

What do you mean by eliminate a lot of hands? Also, if he knows we are going to go all-in if he raises why wouldn't we just push all-in ourselves?

If we make it 500-600 to go, BB might still think that he has some fold equity with hands against which we are flipping and therefore shove over with them

Vs an aggressive player making it 500 is going to end up with you getting shoved on alot (depending on your image obviously, but you are in the most obvious steal position and stacks are perfect for 3bet shipping).
If solid and sensible means he's a pretty uncreative nit then making it 500 is ok but I'd rather shove.

shove, not close, taking flops with 66 and a short stack and OOP is a great start to geting it in terrible.

Don't really understand the read, he's solid and sensible but you're worried he's going to call a jam with KT or QJ?

Shove; 3Xing with these stacks seems terrible with any hand -- doing it with 66 out of position feels like burning money.
