If you had a free 24 hours in London, what would you do. Sometime in late October.

Just don't get lured into a Soho strip bar, no matter how good the deal sounds.

    1. Buy an umbrella. Seriously, it rains every day this time of year.

    2. Natural history museum (or if you prefer, another museum more to your tastes - there are at least five or six that are world class).

    3. Tower of London.

    4. Buckingham Palace.

Things I would not visit: London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben/Houses of Parliament.

Really does depend what you're into - I would do the tourist things, then go to a cool gastro-pub and drink some good drinks and eat some good food.

A great place for this is The Anchor and Hope on The Cut, near Waterloo. Seriously good food and good wines and beers. You're also near the Southbank then, so can head up there to enjoy the Thames at night - more good bars/pubs to hit up.

If you do want some more in depth advice drop me a PM. I'm a born and bred Londoner so can direct you to some cool places to eat drink a bit more of the tourist trail.

Well plans changed and now I'm "stuck" in London from 25-29 of Oct. I now can spend one day in a museum. But I'm not a big fan as I get bored easily. I will be in central London. I appreciate the suggestions.

Honestly if you don't go find Wilburs' funky chicken truck and eat a fucking sandwich then nothing you do there has any meaning.

I haven't been to england yet and its on my bucket list. the more folks I can meet over there gives me more incentive to hop on a plane and just leave my life at home for a couple weeks. I really want to meet luck too because I love russians, and you an I have had our chats in #ftr before it died.

From the movie called "The Bucket List" starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.

Two old men are diagnosed with terminal illness and decide to do all of the things they dreamed of doing, but never did.

A bucket list is a metaphor for all of things you would do in this life if money and courage were not an issue. Impractical notions are generally excluded from the list.

Lol no I don't have any plans on going there. I think I've expressed my opinion of that place in this thread already pretty clearly.

It'll be quite some time before I make it over there but future plans are being penciled in. When I do I expect the same invitation and expect we will drink LOTS. Start preparing.

Of course the invitation is open to you supa! and everyone else

Hoping to meet up with Luck in a few weeks!

Curry in Brick Lane, followed by some real ales in a Shoreditch strip pub (if those places are still open). Plus the usual museums and shows and some English football.

Thinking about it, isn't it about time Pascal organised an FTR-UK event, maybe with honorary guests from overseas?

wasn't it Samuel Pepys who said if you tire of London, you tire of life?

hard to do London justice in just 24 hours but I would do some mix of Borough Market, Notting Hill, Soho, Camden... just explore.

A few years of commuting into London is enough to make you tire of life.

Night one, starts with Waxy's o'Connor's pub and a delicious pint of caffry's. An old Irish tree dating to before the yanks beat the pants off the Brits surrounds me. In essence its like dining in a tree house, with dungeonesq lighting. but instead of a cold and dreary place it lively, yet not obnoxiously loud. People watching is great . Young, old, everyone is here. Feels more like an early Friday afternoon, than just a regular ole Monday. I patiently await my half dozen oysters sipping on the delicious nectar of the gods. One good pint deserves another. Cheers and goodnight.
