Poker rooms have to fight cheaters together
The latest tendencies in online poker have been showing distinct signs of decline. Fist they remove the French and Italians, then the Yanks, another year passes, and there're no Spaniards either. In Ruskyland - currently the biggest market, ISPs have been blocking access to pokerrooms' websites lately, so the recs have more and more difficultise in downloading poker clients. They prohibit poker in Russia, and it'll be even worse, especially for folks who specialize in non-NLHE games.
And even if the were no country based reservations still the reg/rec ratio would have been getting worse and worse every month.
Why is that so? Mainly the pokerschools and poker videos sites are to blame, and shortsighted approach on the rooms' side: for years they have been using pokerschools like pokerstrategy.com to attract nue players. Damn, is their managment a bunch of retards? Like players who have easy access to pokerstrat materials are really the type of players pokerrooms should be interested in. it's insane, OMG.
But recently the rooms' management have started to understand things: First 888 stopped affiliation with pokerstrategy.com then Stars bought FTP and told PS to GTFO, and today Partypoker has decided to do the same .
I think Pokerstars have to finally do it too, WTF the biggest and the most influential pokerroom has no guts to say boo to the gookerstrategy? Even Partypoker, the room with no understanding of poker perspectives, can do it.
But the real point of this thread is different, now that the rooms have decided to do steps in the direction of fighting the influx of regs who leech on poker economy, why don't they create the database of cheaters with all their data (names, cities, type of games played, hardware profiles) and start banning crooks together? If there are sites with shared hand history bases, why can't pokerrooms do the same? It's in their common interest, coz I think, the reg/rec ratio among cheaters is disproportionally in favor of regs. Of course, losers with history of cheating have to be tolerated on sites where they didn't cheat. I don't mind who I win money from, honest people, or not, and with the current developments any extra fish helps to keep the games running.
And in fact, Stars have already started to inform ppl, who they banned on Stars to GTFO from FTP as well when they gained access to their info due to their merger.
Just think: if casinos in Las Vegas fight BJ card counters and exchange their IDs why pokerrooms can't?
At least big rooms and networks like Stars, Party, 888, ipoker, Cake, Merge and FTP can afford it, the cheaters and cashouters aen't that crucial from the point of view of game liquidity for them.
And may all the scum of online pokers go to networks run by criminals, like enet. Who cares, now that they are isolated from honest players?
