What to Do with My 7s Here...
Lock Poker - $2 Bounty Turbo -- 0/30/60 Blinds - 9 Players
SB - 2,990
BB (Hero) - 2,412
UTG - 1,705
UTG+1 - 1,230
MP1 - 1,535
MP2 - 728
HJ - 3,599
CO - 2,000
BTN - 2,173
Dealt to Hero - 7 , 7
UTG raises to 160, five folds, BTN calls, SB calls, Hero calls
*** FLOP *** [8d,Jc,As]
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets 427, BTN calls, SB folds, Hero folds
I know calling is the worst thing to do ever, but in this situation I thought it was the best move. Considering the UTG raise had two callers, I thought I was priced in for a set mine. I didn't want to 3-bet here, worried UTG would either 4-bet or call, which would either lead to me to bet/fold or to play a bloated pot OOP. I also didn't want to 3-bet into three players. At least with a call, my flop decisions were pretty simple.
Is this horrible reasoning?
