Default AQs vs 61/61/20: Line Check

    Winning Poker Network - $0.02 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

    BTN: 100.5 BB
    SB: 43 BB
    BB: 17.5 BB
    UTG: 117.5 BB
    Hero (MP): 198 BB
    CO: 108.5 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q A

fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, fold, BTN raises to 11 BB, fold, fold, Hero raises to 30 BB, BTN calls 19 BB

    Flop: (61.5 BB, 2 players) T 3 4
    Hero checks, BTN checks

    Turn: (61.5 BB, 2 players) 5
Hero checks, BTN bets 19.5 BB, fold

    BTN wins 58.5 BB

1 BB was deducted from the pot for the jackpot.

How do we look here? Was the 4bet to 30 BB's sound? I was OOP and thought I might be able to take the pot down right there. Once he bet the turn I thought there was every chance (even though he bet light) that I was beat. Yes, no?

    Thanks

Pre looks good to me, now cbet flop and give up if called. As played fold I guess, we can't call another bet and we look like AK so we should expect another bet.

Not sure about the 4Bet (though against 61/61/20 it's fine -perhaps a little small) but you should definitely bet Continuation Betting the Flop. Having let that go you have no idea what he holds on the Turn (likely he bets here with anything).

100 hands is ok for the VP/PF but for 3Bets it's a bit low (not as bad as usual given the 61s but still very big error bars)

Of course there will be plenty of other opportunities to take this fella on!

    I'm assuming the 20 mentioned is 3Bet %...?

    Indeed...20% preflop 3b.

I've been checking back the flop OOP a bit more but definitely see why a cbet was the right play here.

I was cbetting more today OOP on hands that I wanted to charge villain more for a draw on and it obviously worked out nicely. Super wet boards I'm checking, but when it's obvious villian has that middle pair or backdoor draw, I'm betting 3/4 to full pot on the flop. Fish call regardless of whether it's 3/4 or full pot on the flop quite regularly with sheer garbage.

I pay a good bit of attention to their Fold To CB stats.

Presumably if we're 4b this hand OOP it's because we expect him to peel with worse hands than ours pre. (If we don't expect this, then I'm not sure we should be 4b and could call instead).

Along the same lines. If we expect he can peel with worse hands to our 4b (KJ/KQ/JT/J9s etc stuff), then we should be c/c the turn.

ie: If I'm 4b pre, then I'm calling this bet post. Though I'd rather just call the 3b pre without good reads on his 4b tendencies.
