I'm not implying any blame on boog, in case that's what it looks like. We talked about it and it was a joint decision. We both felt the claim was necessary, because we thought the backup would cc. We didn't anticipate that the seer could take the line of holding a backup claim.

endgame construction is the most underrated strategy. it allows the village to operate on a level above the wolves.

btw a player deciding the wolf thread won't go public is unacceptable. it's as much public domain as the game thread. nobody even cares about what is said unless it's a direct insult to somebody else. it's each player's duty to not post things they regret, and if they do, to delete them.

but it is unacceptable policy for any specific players to get special treatment.

that said, im not saying this because i want to read it. i dont even care and i only just skim wolf threads anyways. on principle if somebody doesnt want me to read their posts i dont (which is why i dont read deleted posts even though mods can). i just think it needs to be clear that going forward there will be no assumption that an individual player can get special treatment at the expense of everybody else. the wolf thread is a public thread. end of story.

this kills the spirit. fairness and openness is paramount to the integrity of the game. the wolf thread is separate from the game thread for the sole purpose of maintaining game function. it has nothing to do with giving the players as people special treatment.

take this scenario in: there is a player who, whenever he's a wolf, vetos revelation of the wolf thread. eventually everybody is going to know who this guy is and fucking hate him. our dislike for him would have nothing to do with his actual behavior in the thread but in his choice to treat his werewolf family (that's what this is) as if he's more important.

that said, if this is truly a special case, where the player made such an ass of himself that it is better all around to not reveal, then k fine don't reveal. but that assumes that he doesn't have post delete repsonsibility as well as there are four other players who are also getting special treatment in that they know about it. the whole idea is silly. what in ww is said to one player is said to all.

going forward, the policy needs to be that no player gets special treatment.

This is FTR, not some backpacker's hovel. We're an awesome group of people who are fun to be with. We accept outlandish behavior from time to time from all of our most loyal posters, because it has been shown time and again that we're way too cool for normal internet folk.
Normal internet folk leave are annoying and impersonal and can't handle the awesomeness.

Cool people stay on FTR 'cause we're da best around (Nubba nebba gon nugget me down).

If some new guy wants a favor, then that's cool. He earned it by playing nice with us in our fun game.

It is a favor, though, and not what I think we should be doing as far as game integrity goes.

Yeah. Village core kept growing. Wolves were in trouble early. The ITA was strong for village, too, but ultimately, aubrey and BID were easy targets. It would have made for a much longer game, though.

This game was a good length. It all worked out. I got a big promotion was was owning early-game reads. It's been a great couple of weeks!

I want, "I was there when gabe lost his cool," T-shirts made for everyone involved in this game.

That's one of the things I like about it here. You don't get lynched if you don't post 100 times a day. Here on FTR, quality is better than quantity and slank cover is understood and respected in either role.

I think every single time I'm voting for a wolf, I'm saying in the den that I don't actually want it to happen. I just don't want anyone to think that. I didn't want boog to die because I knew I'd need to play perfectly from there (I didn't realise I was relying on town to slip too), but what can I do? If I try to hard to keep him alive, then when he dies anyway, I have no chance of getting through endgame. I was trying to find ways to get other people lynched, but wolves only have so much sway.

Village here is so strong that for a wolf to have any chance, he has to anticipate the momentum of the village. That's what I felt like I was doing here. It was never a plan to outright bus my teammates, it was a plan to make sure I'm not an obvious wolf when wolves start dying.

Missing specials was a huge burden for us, but it's great that it wasn't the critical factor. The fact we can win this with a better fakeclaim strategy, despite missing two nights running for specials, shows that this is a great format. I felt at first it was pro-wolf, but actually I now think it's balanced. Village specials are strong working together. But it's definitely winnable for the wolves, even missing specials.

We came close to nomming beck n2, that's another point we can win. But the pnaw nom is never bad, he can be seer too. We're kinda crapshooting in that regard. beck left no clues, he was not on my seer radar at all.

I think boog sniffed him out as special, wish we'd listend to him.

TopTierTom: For a guy with no meta on 3/4 of the players you were impressive and clear-headed and gave the village a strong voice to follow. It's a testament to your game that a 5-man wolf team that had never seen you play killed you night 1.

Hifi: You were the only villager to convincingly leave seer and had good reads.

BATM: It's a shame you didn't go full-blown BATM but you were the only villager to correctly call out Ong as a wolf.

ProbablyNotAWolff (Bopolis): You were great once again despite posting limitations and subbing in for a zero-poster.

Beck: Your game is really impressive. I don't know how many times you've played seer before but you were terrific and actually got a useful peek on n1.
