    Seriously? I thought that would have been obvious. Well ok.

    You talked about incentives for migrating to the US. I understand that you were referring to something like lax border control or mild consequences for migrating illegally. If the were the incentives, people from Mexico would likely be going to Venezuela or Honduras. Instead they choose the US, and the reason for that is the hope for a better life and a well-paying job. They're not going to the US because of the immigration laws, they're going despite them.

    Thank you for the clarification.

    To answer the question if US politicians are responsible for US economy being better than neighbors', the answer is partly yes. US politicians favor security and choice much more than counterparts in most (all) Latin American countries.
