    hey fnord!

probably a stupid question, but why the raise with QJ? you have good position, but (assuming you're not just trying to steal the blinds) i would have been concerned that a $2 raise would have folded the button and BB.

also - how would you have reacted if the BB came out with a big bet as opposed to checking it to you?

    nice win!

I hate QJo, but in the cutoff with everyone folded to me I figured I could buy the button and pick on the blinds. When the button called I knew I was in trouble and was ready to make a laydown.

Raise to isolate. Depending on the bet size as much as all-in.

although, the call most likely means a "decent hand", but not AA, KK, etc (that would have probably been a reraise, unless they're trying to trap you).

your raise actually gave you some good info to proceed with. i can't really fault the BB's play, it's hard to put someone on two pair.

good, bold play on your part.

i hate hands like this: if i'm you, i'm just waiting for an A or K to come up to give someone a better two pair - if i'm them, i'm wondering what the hell you've got (two pair?, set?, or a maniac raising on a draw?).

The BB trapped himself by check-raising a hand as weak as top pair top kicker. After I re-raised him he was pot committed and never had a chance to get away from the hand.
