Your right a real man doesn't wear bracelets, but they do wear cool FTR tee shirts.

OMG! They play so bad I can't make any money! pffft....

Must have been something in the air last night. I've been quietly playing 2/4 Limit for the past week and doing pretty well until last night. I was up playing 2/4 $330. Last night couldn't hit a friggin flop to save my life. Any hands that I did have were always 2nd best (KJs, top pair K-kicker beat by AJo) and any attempt at blind stealing/bluffing were thwarted.

I should have known that I was f'd from the very first hand. I have been playing at Ultimate Bet again during my 2/4 play and I had to put myself on the waiting list to get on a table that I wanted with 8+ players. So I get to the table wait until the button passes me and then post my blind. Well, I didn't notice that I had been seated at a "Kill" table and the first hand that I decided to play was a kill game (so the stakes were double making it essentially a 4/8 game). of course the person forced to post the kill blind raises it to $8 and here I am with J5o and looking at a $6 call. So I folded and was pissed that I wasn't paying more attention before posting my blind and throwing away $2. Mind you, I don't mind playing at the kill tables. In fact, it's kinda cool to play a hand of 4/8 every once in a while. I won my biggest pot to date ($102) at a kill table earlier this week.

It just got worse from there. I finished the night winning a grandtotal of 11 of 236 hands! ELEVEN OF TWO-HUNDRED THIRTY SIX HANDS!

The epitome of my night, I was getting ready to leave the table because obviously it was not my night. The table went from a full 10-man table to 4 players remaining within 3 hands and it was getting late. So, I'm on the BB and guess what I get dealt? If you said AA you win. First to act folds, button folds, SB FOLDS! HA! I waited all night for that hand and I won $1!

What a f@*kin' night! I left the table down $130. Man, I was cruisin' playing 2/4 too and I was feeling really good going into the night. Talk about beatin' the man down. Sheesh.

Can't we all just get along?? Stop the senseless hexing. Toekneechin hexs scgolfer, he loses. Scgolfer senses that Fnord is behind it (because of the FTR showdown) so he hexes Fnord, Fnord loses. Scgolfer finds out that Toekneechin thinks its funny. So you guessed it I hex him. He loses. The crazy thing is we know that Ripptyde is doing it to all of us.

I'm playing in a $10,000 tourny at the B&M tonight so please stop the hexing. Maybe I could splash the pot in the next FTR showdown, with some golf caps from my golf club for the winners, in return for a no hexing policy??

    So what do you think??
Holy crap I cant play against Yoda!!

I can't remember exactly who took him out of the FTR showdown, but I'm sure he put the hex on somebody, most likely you, because you didn't play. I still think it is all Ripptyde doing it to all of us. You know when you get to be Fishstick's age people become kinda grumpy thinking the world is against them.

Damn, damn, damn!!!! That line was out there just waiting for me to pounce on and I dropped the ball on it!! Thank God, scgolfer got my back!

Fishstick, if you're hexxing me I swear I'll............. Pick on someone your own age........ HEATMAN! :P

Really, there is noone his own age, but I would appreciate a break too. I'm getting killed. I'm winning enough small pots to stay about even, but every big hand I get is topped by something stupid and lucky OR not being paid off.

    Streaks suck.

Post some hands? Also, were you trying to bluff players that even knew how to fold bottom pair or 2 overs?
  15. #15
You know, Ultimate Bet has the instant access to the hand histories and I was looking at a few of them after some of the hands played out as I was playing but I'm not certain how to get a history of past hands played. I presume it would just be an email like PP. I'll check it out.

Although, not much interesting happened last night. The cards were super-cold. And as I said, the few times I did have a hand it was always 2nd best. One other thing that I found happened more often last night than any other time since I have been playing was that I folded what would have ended up being the winning hand 12 times! I started counting after the 3rd time just out of curiosity. But my cards were so bad after the flop that I pretty much had to fold. Then, like clockwork, the turn and river would give me what would have been the winning hand. Very frustrating night overall.

Your right, my bluff attempts may have been in vain. Alot of suckouts by people calling down with 2nd pair and so forth so I may have just picked the wrong table to attempt bluffs/blind steals. I was amazed what people were raising with. There were at least 2 guys that raised any time they had Ax or Kx regardless of what the other card in their hand or the suit was. Those guys actually made out last night because they didn't know how to fold a hand and they would suckout. These are the types of guys I normally would love at my table but I just didn't get the cards to stay in a hand with them and I could not hit a flop to save my soul.

Overall, I have enjoyed the play at the 2/4 tables. Last night was primarily a run of cold cards night. But none the less frustrating. I will probably stick with 2/4 limit for while as I am enjoying the play and (up until last night) it has been profitable.

geez - people get a few bad hands, and it's suddenly "let's turn on fishstick"?

i've done nothing but be a supportive, nurturing friend to everyone on this board, and this is how i'm treated?

now, what was i doing? oh yeah:

here's an idea: you and jm bring your clubs and come to san diego for a visit. i'll take you golf surfing. golf surfing is where we trick errr i mean invite golfers to surf with us, duct tape them (with their clubs) to a board, and then give you a push out to sea.

    it really is awesome!

Would be very interesting to see a hand history. Sounding around 75% bad luck to me...
  24. #24
Yeah, if I can get them to e-mail me my history from last night I will post it for analysis. It was just one of those nights where you just never get anything that's really playable and when you do you have that sinking feeling that your hand is going to be 2nd best.

I pretty much adhere to roughly the same starting hands that you had posted in another thread for $2/$4 limit. but that may have been the coldest run of cards I have had in any single night thus far. Also, I have never had a night where when I did get to see a flop I missed it entirely so often. The weirdest part was throwing away the winning hand 12 times! That has never happened to me before so often in one single night.

The worst part is the last time I played before last night I had just reached my all-time high as far as being up overall.

Oh well, I guess that 's why they say, "That's poker!", right?
