Wow, right after I posted this, two of the next 3 hands are huge.

Since these hands look like crap here, I'll fix it up a bit.

    Birdiemaster> beautiful

I'm on a rush that compares with my all time best right now. Yesterday, I randomly looked in a Prima account I have and found $60 sitting in there. That's now $600, with practically all of that being made at these 6 man $.50 / $1 tables.

And I'm a tournament player! I think my aggressive side really helps at these 6 man tables, unlike how it usually gets me killed in a 10 man table, when it rears its ugly head.

That A8 on the first big hand. There's no way I would've even played that on a 10 man table. Here, not only do I hit a straight with it, but the other guy is so sure that I don't have one after my preflop raise and betting, that he tries some mad bluffing to try and scare me out of the pot, practically giving me his money.

Also, for once, I'm switching tables whenever I find a table that's pretty tough to make money at. If I'm just going up and down and staying about even, I leave the table and find a table that's easier to take advantage of.

This is pretty insane. Since that last post I've tried out the $.50 / $1 NL 6 player tables, and I'm up another $300 (using only the max buy-in of $100). I'm in some kind of poker zone. I know when its safe to trap with two pair or a set, even with a draw out there, I know when to bet out draws, I know when to chase, I know when to bluff, I know when to call a HUGE bet with top pair and a horrible kicker, etc.

And its not just for an hour or two. I've been doing this for over 12 hours now. Have you guys gotten into these types of zones?

Thanks. After that I played a 593 multiplayer table (that sadly wasn't very high stakes) and finished 4th. That took about 4 hours though ...

Whenever you get to a stopping point, you'll have to give us a +net number. If you are comfortable.

It's almost exciting to hear how great someone's doing. I'm breaking even today, as I always am. I think I'm down $2 in SnGs and down $1 in ring games. Not enough to worry about.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

Spent another couple hours in a $35 multitable tourney, and end up only winning $22 over my buy-in :-/ Won $65 in the last one.

Ok, I'm stopping for today. Within a 24 hour period, counting the random $60 I found in my account, I'm to about $1170 (counting $200 I moved to my bank account back when I only was up $400).

    A pretty good day.

Update: I was gone all day for the 4th of July, but I came back and have played the past 3 hours, mostly at the $1 / $2 level (a step up from what I was playing at before).

    In 3 hours I've won $400 here. $133 an hour isn't bad.

Note: Add on another $100 to my winnings since I've been typing this. A big stack went on tilt because I had taken most of his money, and I finished him off on a preflop all in (my AK vs. his AQ)

As for my play style, I'm taking Fnord's advice of raising 3x BB (he suggested more, but I like this) with any hand you'd normally call with in a 10 player game, besides pure drawing hands like suited connectors and low pocket pairs (I do this at times too, but more with the pocket pairs and not always). I do this raising practically anywhere besides UTG (unless its normally a raising hand in 10 player) and maybe BB. I may limp in anywhere with hands I normally wouldn't call with (especially on the button), but I don't usually raise with them. Then I backup any preflop raise with another 6x BB bet on the flop usually, unless its a scary flop that completely missed me. You'd be amazed at how many times this picks the pot up immediately, even though you always do it.

Also, I'm calling sometimes on implied odds. Like for example, I bet $6 on pocket 8s preflop and there was a flop of QTT and one player bet $6 (not a big bet at this table) and the next called. I also called, and hit an 8 on the turn. Player 1 bets $4 this time, next player calls, and I call. On the river player 1 bets $4 again, the next calls, and I raise to $40 (about the pot size). Player 1 folds and player 2 calls with what I assume was a pair of Qs. Afterwards he's not happy I hit a two outer, but really I had implied odds. That $6 bet was under 5% of the $136 pot, and I had an 8% chance of hitting it. The reason these kind of odds can be expected is that there's usually big betting going on by the river if it gets that far, and big bets are likely to be called.

Stats wise, right now I'm seeing about 50% of flops, and winning 22% of the games. Not much above average here. But where I'm paying off is that I'm winning 80% of showdowns, and winning 42% of the time I see the flop, which is very consistent from what I did yesterday.

Overall, I really like 6 max NL games

Yup, that would be a rush. Enjoy it while it lasts and keep working on your game. If you can keep up your win rate, we need to talk

Had a #$*& of a day a couple days ago. I had KK vs AA at a 6 max table, but still was able to grind out a net +$25 for the session. Just recently I was able to get flushes back in the black in Poker Tracker. Then ran some heads up SnGs and went 1 for 4, including dropping one with KK vs AA (nearly even stacks)...

I think the rush is officially over, but I'm still doing very well. Struggled earlier today on the tables with bad beats and such, which I say officially ended any rush I was on ( http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...pic.php?t=1339 ). But afterwards I finished 2nd in a MTT for $740 and won $800 at a $2 / $4 table (largely from my best hand ever - http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...pic.php?t=1344 ).

So I don't know, maybe I'm on a new rush. But at the $2 / $4 NL tables, the amount you win in a good session is pretty high, and I now have the bankroll to play here. Right now, amazingly enough, I'm up $2,564 this week.

I notice though, especially at the higher stakes tables, table selection is ridiculously important. Some of these tables are filled with rocks, and you can't make money at them, and are more likely to lose money after you get frustrated with how little action there is . You need to find some loose players to be profitable at the higher stakes, since the average player there is much better than at the lower stakes. I typically look for the table (at the limit I want to play) with the highest average pot per hand. I sit down there, and test the waters a bit. Kind of like the saying goes, if I don't spot the sucker at the table within 10 minutes .... I switch tables.
