    After all I've heard about 74o here on FTR, I figured I would start calling 74o as my rags hand, previously Its always been J7o. here is what I was greeted with :P

    Congratulations. You got very lucky.

    They key to playing rags is very specific. I'm sure Rippy would agree. When he posts a hand where his 74o beats another player, he should add at the bottom, "Do not try this at home."

    You have to take advantage of a few things.

    Position
    Stacks
    "The gap concept" (basically says that people will play worse hands in ring games than they will in tournaments)
    Your table image.
    What the action is to you

    Then raise.

    I know that I have never played a bad hand, like 74o, and called with it. You can't bluff by calling. I also would never consider playing rags in a ring game. It's a lot tougher to catch those trappers with a bluff.

    It makes no difference anyway.
