talk about variance
So I posted this thread: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...pic.php?t=2101
What got me thinking about it was this:
Code:
Buy-in Place Payout Payout Total Profit
11 1 50 39 39
11 6 0 -11 28
11 3 20 9 37
11 2 30 19 56
11 2 30 19 75
11 2 30 19 94
11 5 0 -11 83
11 1 50 39 122
11 6 0 -11 111
11 8 0 -11 100
11 7 0 -11 89
11 2 30 19 108
11 10 0 -11 97
11 8 0 -11 86
11 4 0 -11 75
11 3 20 9 84
11 2 30 19 103
11 1 50 39 142
11 1 50 39 181
11 7 0 -11 170
11 2 30 19 189
I took Toasty's advice and started tracking my SnG results... this was up until a few days ago. Then I thought, I'll get my bankroll up another $30 more and then I'll cash-out $50 and put it in PS. And then, right then, I started a horrible down-slide. I lost *all* of the profit that I had worked to get over the next couple days, with only one 2nd place finish ITM.
Either it was a tremendous hot-streak and I'm really horrible, a cold-streak and I'm actually fairly adequate, my play changing slightly at the thrill of cashing out, or... maybe just a transitional period of instablity where I'm becoming a better player? [/wishful thinking]
In any case, I took a couple days off and went back to the basics yesterday, dropped down to $5+1, and broke about $4 ahead for the day. Today I've placed 3rd, 3rd, 1st in 3 $5+1 for +$27. So hopefully the bad run is over. I'll stick with the $5+1 until I get a bit more of the money I lost back and I'm comfortable.
