    Default Holdem Rules question

I was watching a 200$ two table tourney earlier where someone I know was playing, it got down to 4 left, top 3 paid.

The person I knew was shortstacked and went allin with AKs, Chip leader called with AJ, and the other shortstack had slightly more than my friend and went allin with QQ.

Board came up something like {10 J J A 2}, this gave the big stack jacks full, my friend 2 pair aces and jacks, and the other shortstack 2 pair queens and jacks.

My question is why my friend finished 4th when he had a better hand than the person who had QQ who finished 3rd as both were all in?

i thought in a situation like this, tourney placing was determined by clock-wise table position if more than one player got knocked out on the hand???
i hate what i have become to escape what i hated being...

If 2 people get knocked out on the same hand, the one who started the hand with more money gets the higher place.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

    What Humphy said.

The other shortstack started the hand with more chips than your friend, so he finished higher. The fact that your friend had a better hand than the other shortstack does not matter. Both shortstacks lost to the best hand, the full house.
