Default How long did it take?

How long did it take for you to first start making money steadily off of sit n gos? Where? What entry fee? How much did you linitially lose before you won it back?

If you aren't making money off of sit n gos (like myself) how long have you been playing and not making money on them? Where? What entry fee? How much are you down?

If you are down after playing 20, you should drop down a limit and evaluate you game. Post your finishes here and we might be able to see where you are going wrong.

If you miss the money there is no reason why you be regularly finishing greater than 5th.

I played the special BugsysClub BBP SnGs. BBP is like real money but it isn't quite.....you can exchange 1000 BBP for $10.

The only reason I do get in the money regularly with SnGs though is because I realised how bad my ring game play was so I just started working on SnGs and I gradually (GRADUALLY) built up the buyin level, but I can finish in the money about 70% of the time.

Just start at a lower limit and once you can win more than 70% of them go up one level. There's no need to rush, just build it up slowly.

Although ITMF % is important, its not as important as ROI (Return on investment). You could finish less in the money for more 1st places and have a higher win rate.

I play and bugsys and did notice the extream tightness

using the "raise with marginal hand" and repping K or A on board

read rippy's sticky, because his type of agressive play really pays off

    in bugsys' sng

I started winning from the start at $5 level. After a lot of short-handed practice ie. 4 players or less, my results really improved. I play $20/30 now occasionally, but I generally stick to cash games.

I do not have any record of ITM% or hourly rate but my BR is on steady upward trend.

SNGs are tricky. There are many variables besides the cards that factor in, especially when you are down to the last 5 players or less. I also think there is a very large LUCK factor in tournaments on PP anyway where you only start w/ 800. Other places start w/ 1500 and it is a bit better. Which are you playing?

I have been on hot streaks where I can be ITM 6 in a row and I have been on similar cold streaks. Missing the money on 10 + is a problem and you may need to do some more work/tighten up.

Read T.J.s Tournament poker or some other tourney strategy book. They will discuss more of the other factors to consider better than I can.

I started my bankroll with $20 and am down to $18 after playing an unknown number of $6 sitngos at pokerroom where you start with 1500 chips. About 5 of those sitngos where before I started reading this site. I am estimating 9-10 range. I have won one and placed 2-3rd a number of times but I am unable to look up my exact results. I only get to play about once a week when I am over at my friend's house, but after this weeks session I will post my histories.

I started making money (very small) after 200+ SnGs. However it took over 800+ SnGs to win worth whiled profit ($100/day about)

Started at $5 up to midpoint. Moved to $10 and went to $20 when I knew I had a winning strategy (800+)

I was fortunate not to be in th red. I played 7-stud .25 games to keep my $5 entry fees going. I did however have a losing streak the took -$300 from me @ $20 SnGs. I was still up 2k at that point.

Thats a tough one. It really depends on your playing strategy. I would say it takes at least 2months and over 200+ SnGs to be convincing.

I would strictly play $5 SnGs on Paradise. If you are losing 4 in a row and not placing in the top 3 every 3 SnGs, rethink your playing and make small changes. Also, you should be placing in the top-6 most of the time.

Currently Im averaging 3k / month and average about $100 / day at $30 SnGs. More on the weekends
