Default How to play str8 with flush out there?

Sorry no hand history - I joined a 50/5 1 table SNG on PS by mistake (lol - I usually play 20/2 ish, have been trying the 30/3s lately) - this was the second hand. I'm on the button with 4s5s, I limp in, SB completes BB checks.

    Flop - 8h, 6h, 7h

so I have the bottom str8, but anyone with a heart has lots of outs, could be someone with a bigger str8 or the flush ready made.

All of us have 1500 chips, blinds were 10/20 so there's only 60 chips in the pot.

SB min bets, BB calls. I'm thinking they are both on the draw, but could be slow playing the big hands. I raise 200 chips, and they both fold.

Looking back I feel it was the wrong play, because if I'm called I'm probably already beat with no outs. But I felt I had to make some kind of a bet, because if another heart comes out I'm folding to any bet, and if anyone bets huge I have to worry they flopped a bigger hand.

    Thoughts?

personally i think you did the right play here. you were testing the waters. in fact they probably thought you had the flush. if you get reraised, then you should cut your losses and respect their raise.

The play looks fine to me. I would think you have the best hand on the flop and want to discourage anyone drawing to the flush. I think if you call thats a very passive option and so the question is how much you should raise. I tend to think 200 is a bit too much and discourages anyone holding a 4-card draw to play. Also if you get called, you have to be thinking you might be beat and you have alot of chips in the center now. I probably would of fired 60-100 on the flop and something bigger on the turn if a rag fell...

Thanks all. I agree Krapp, a nice 100 bet probably would have made more sense.
