    Default Someone all in

What do you do when someone is all in?

I try to check through, but what if somone outdraws you..(just happened to me) I had best hand on flop but don't like to raise.

    Play your hand like normal.

How much was all-in? How much was the side pot? It may be advantageous to do both.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

As well as what Humphrind asks I think I would need to know what the stack sizes were.
If it's a short stack going all in, I've seen (and done it myself) large stacks joing in on the hope of seeing 5 cards and hitting something. If you believe that you have the all in beat and have the best hand that may be outdrawn then I can't see any reason why you shouldn't bet. In the end you need to make the play that's best for you (whether that is getting rid of another player or making your stack bigger.)
Also if you have a really good hand why not extract more chips from the others?

if a short stack has gone all in and someone else and myself have both called to see the flop. I will check it down if i dont hit anything and hope that the other guy realizes that we can knock someone out if neither of us have hit. If I hit, i'll play my hand as i would normally and bet it. If other guy bets i'll play the hand normally, but if i fold and they've got turds i'm not a happy camper and file it away for later

the other day, i had 66, and some short stack went all in with VERY few chips, I called, and so did someone else...

Flop didnt help anyone, I had the best hand, the second person who called the all in went all in for more than i had, and i folded, and he shows A-4

i didnt understand WTF he was thinking

Darkby. Any hand with an ace is better than any non pair non other ace hand. So if he thought the other guy had kqs he still had him beat.

A lot of times I like to check through the river unless I make a powerhouse. Even with the powerhouse, I won't bet, unless my opp decides to play at me. Then I play right back and make them sorry. I like eliminating players, especially if it's down to 4 in a STT. Knocking the other guy out puts both of you in the money, so betting a marginal hand is stupid in that situation, for both of you.

But the sidepot was 0, and he raised 600 into it with ace high, it was like 1/3 of his stack at a sidepot of nothing, with ace high. what possible motive could he have there? did he think the ace high was good? i dont get it

Bluffing into a dry pot is simply idiotic, there is no way you can win a sidepot of 0 bluffing, and if you get called your almost surely beat. but sometimes people think if they can push someone out, that their odds are that much better of winning. It's usually done by neophytes that haven't realized that eliminating a player is better for both of you.
