SnG hand

    Default SnG hand

    $2 SnG on Prima

    5 left, top 3 pay.

I have medium stack. Blinds are approximately 1/9 of my stack. I have JJ in SB. Blind steals have been occurring quite often, at least 1/3 of the time preflop. BB, who was also a medium stack and had roughly the same number of chips as me, and who had played like a maniac all game, raises minimum. All fold to me.

    Do you:

    A) Call, but not getting any more information about opponent's hand, and thus still not be comfortable with undercards on flop. The raise was approximately 1/8 of my stack, which would make it neutralEV from the flopping a set perspective.

    B) Reraise minimum, but still not getting that much information as I'm up against a Maniac, and I might still be up against at best overcards even if he reraises me again or calls. And I would be in 4th position out of 5 if I had to fold to a reraise and lose about a third of my stack, which makes reraising the minimum not seem so good.

    C) Fold

    D) Push

what was he raising before (just min or 3-4x BB). JJ is a strong hand, but its far from a cinch, I would go with my gut depending on the situation, and what I'd seen from his past play.

I might be inclined to let this one go, even though you may have the best of it, it's not really worth jeopardizing your chips on the bubble, and post flop he has position on you. If I were to play it, it's a clear push situation.

    push or fold.

At that level play, I'd be pushing far more than I'm folding. But it depends on the player, etc.
    If I had a hammer
    I'd drop in the morning
    I'd drop in the evening..

usually a minimum raise from a good player is a trap....personally with the blinds so big i'd push. but if you think you'll get another hand better than JJ in the next 5 minutes then fold it.

If you think there is any chance that the guy really has a hand, I'd call and then push on a non-scary flop.

If you think he's stealing I'd push and take your chances. More than likely, you're in a coin flip at worst if he calls.

Well at this point with the blinds so high a minimum raise is pretty standard preflop as a 3xBB raise would put the raiser half in anyways.

Well I made the decision to Push.

    Turns out he had KK.

In hindsight I could have folded, but with the blinds so high I didn't know if I could have seen a good hand again. Plus I was on the bubble so I needed to double up to have a good shot at winning it anyway.

It's just unfortunate I ran into an overpair.

Good play, bad luck... Not much you can do about that..

This one is easy for me... all-in.
