First Tournament

elanto View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Blog Entries Join Date Oct 2004 Posts 902	First Tournament Well I started playing poker with my friends about two months ago, I moved to online play about 1 week ago, playing only play money games. Today I joined a free roll in poker stars, 6 thousand people participated and I placed 400. Now, I have two questions... First: Is that a good finish for my first outing in an online tourney? Second: When there were 400 people left I was the short stacked in the table, with only 5k chips. I got pocket 9's and moved all-in, a guy with an A5s called me and hit the ace on the river. Do you think I made the right call to move all in, or should I have waited for a better hand to move all-in?
