Default K9s in BB in an MTT and flopping top pair with 3 opponents

    Greetings,

I am playing in an MTT on pokerstars and was just dealt K9s in the BB. The table is very loose aggressive (we are in the first hour) and there are a few psychos at my table.......

I would appreciate advice and/or criticism on how I played this one.

    Thanks,

    CeleryMan.

Your turn bet is somewhat small relative to the pot size. Your fold on the river with top pair and no kicker is fine. I'd have checked the river and called for the right price. He either has a busted draw or a better hand on the river, so a value bet only gets called by a better hand. A river value bet does tend to keep busted draw hands from bluffing you with bets you can't call, but I'd still check the river in this case.

The turn bet is too small. I have done the same thing, put out a small bet in order to avoid having to call a big bet, but I think that in the long run, you will be better off checking.

By betting you are just putting yourself in a spot where you will be re-raised too much to justify calling. And you aren't too many hands that that will fold to this bet.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.
