Calling and not raising on the flop was getting way too cute with both a flush and broadway str8 on board. If I had raised the flop big, he goes away. I can only imagine his sheer glee when I push the turn.

    Post-hand thoughts: Raise the flop!!!

Post-hand thoughts: Saved by the river. My session would have been even worse without this undisciplined play. At least I guessed right that he had scared queens or jacks, but even still I was stupid to think that the average PP schlub would be able to fold QQ/JJ pre-flop. I didn't like putting almost 20% of my stack in there with a drawing hand and not seeing all five cards....but all-in there isn't a +EV play IMO. Is a call here reasonable though? That big raise seems to scream pocket pair, so I'm behind post-flop 2/3 times. I think this is a pre-flop fold.

Christ. J7s?!? I was hoping it was at least JTs. I knew I was beaten after the other guy pushes all-in, but it's pretty darn hard not to make a crying call with the pot being so large. QQ/AJ were both hands that I could beat, + semi-bluffing draws. Does anybody not make the crying call on the flop to the 2nd all-in?

Post-hand thoughts: Tough break, but I don't think I can find a fold there. I'm pot committed after calling the short stack's push. Crap.

I'm not getting away from TPTK in a raised pot. If he has the set so be it.
    He did. Damn.

Post hand thoughts: You can't play scared. KQ/semi-bluff is possible enough to play this hand for your whole stack post-flop. It would be different if an obvious 2 pair possibility were on board, but that's not the case. Does anybody find a post-flop fold here?

Oh, how my so-on-tilt-by-this-point ass wanted to believe that my KK was good after it's check all around post-flop. I couldn't find a call/raise here though. Other than QQ, wtf could he have that I beat? He'd be a fool to bluff into that board. He made a set of jacks on the turn, or he was slowplaying aces and decided to stop screwing around with the broadway str8 became a threat.

Post-hand thoughts: I like my fold. I fought off a tilty loose call.

    Comments welcome.

Well, on the first hand you said it yourself, you should have raised pre flop, in other words you beat yourself in that hand. With TPTK I usually want to be very aggreaive because if I dont and i loose to a set or a str8 I usually go into tilt and loose tons of cash.

IMO on the secon hand you didn't make a mistake going all-in with that hand, you are only a slight underdog to QQ and in this case the risk is worth the reward. Not going all in but just calling would have meant a lot of cash lost because after the flop you would have probably have folded.

    Holdem Hi: 1712304 enumerated boards
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
    Ad Kh 743113 43.40 960592 56.10 8599 0.50 0.436
    Qd Qh 960592 56.10 743113 43.40 8599 0.50 0.564

It's really hard to give you some advise on the third hand if I don't have some feedback on the player who went all-in. If you happend to know that he is really tight I would have foflded my Kings, I understand that folding pocket kings is hard but sometimes you have to do it when you know youre beat

I totally agree with you on the fourth hand, theres no way your getting away from TPTK with that board, but again if you happend to know that the player who pushed all in is really tight it might be better to fold in this situation, it really depends in the player.

I would have actually played KK. After that all around check after the flop I don't think any of the m had the Ace, actually I think they had a flush draw and wanted to see the turn for free to see if they got it, when he did't he made a semi-bluff to get people to fold. The other explanation is that he hit pair with the jack which would give him the second best hand to your kings, you should have played that hand.

Why semi-bluff into two people with both a flush draw and a broadway str8 draw out there? Very risky. This guy was a tight big stack. He didn't call my preflop raise with KJ. If that J helped him he made two pair (AJ) or a set.

Sounds like you had a tougher night than me. Last night I finished down on 3 of the 4 ring games I was playing.

When you were dealt KK, if it were me I would've raised a bit more, like to $7 or $10 or something, but maybe thats just my personal taste because KK is a hand that always troubles me, if I raise little, you always get one person calling the small amount with AXs and hitting the ace.

But, to conclude, you had one crappy night! Hope you get better luck next time.

I want them to call with crap like Axs when I have KK. They only hit that ace 1/6 of the time post-flop, and I'm not paying them off when they do.

I feel your pain. I had a guy yesterday call 50 cents for the flop last night with 27o and flopped a 2 and bet it a couple bucks. I had made 2 pair - aces and 9s. He hits another 2 on 4th and checks and then just goes all in on 5th st and doubles up off me. It would have been funny if I wasnt in the hand.
  7. #7
I just noticed now that in Hand 3 BOTH of those fools called with suited junk and BOTH made 2 pair on the flop. I actually had the worst hand there

How bad do the poker gods hate you if they let two idiots flop rag 2 pair against you vs. your monster?
