    Default Was it worth it?

Well, I started playing free rolls in The Gaming Club about two weeks ago, and today I got an invitation for a rokkie freeroll, because I just joined a week or so ago. Now, the top 50 get paid, the winner gets 550$, and theres a field of 260..

Ok so its really early on in the tourney, about twenty minutes or so, and I get dealt pocket Kings. Im on the button so when it gets to me I bet 5XBB, SB folds, BB RAISES, everyone else folds, I re-raise only to get raised again, I assume this this guy has pocket aces so I just call. Flop comes Kxx rainbow.. so Im thinking I have this guy beat. He raises I re-raise, he reraises me once more, so I go all-in an he calls, showing pocket aces. Im not worried though Im a 9 to 1 favoirte here. Turn comes another rag, but on the river.....

Now, was this a good call so early in the tourney or should I have played a little more conservative and not reraised so much preflop. I know that after I hit my set I have to push, but preflop was my play ok?

(Ill post results after I get feedback from some people...)

    himself fucker.
Its a freeroll so it's probably a lower calibur of play so the preflop could mean something as weak as jacks, AKs (both less likely) or queens from a newbie. What kind of read did you have on him? Or was it too early? If you just call the re-re-reraise or whatever it was preflop planning to hit a set with kings or fold to ace flop, that's fine (Weak but fine). If it was minraising i suppose you arnt pot commiting yourself. When you flop the set: you know you're going to push. The rest is just poker.

You sounded very sure that this person had AA. And you hit your set on the flop.

Not to be rude, but here is what I'm hearing.

"SHould I fold trips to a pair? Or should I try to win with my trips?

Win! NOw that you hit your set, who has 2 outs? Not you. AA has 2 outs. Take those odds any day!
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

Are you asking if you should fold THE NUTS?

Only when your playing against me.

No.. Im not asking that.. Im asking wether I was too aggressive preflop, because I was sure this guy had rockets, I mean, I think I was to aggressive b/c it was early on and it was a very big prize pool (5K), I wasted half of my money preflop. It was obvious that after I hit my set I had to push, he just got lucky on the river.. I hate it when shi% like that happends..

But if you didn't push so hard pre-flop. You wouldn't be sure he had AA.

Also, can you ever be 100% sure of someone's hand? I play AKs pre-flop very similar to how I play AA pre-flop. And the further I get in a tournament, the closer I play AKs to AA.

I wouldn't be sure of someones hand even if The Pope guaranteed he wasn't lying.
