    Default Time to move up?

About two months ago I was down to 16$ in my pp account after getting raped in NL ring games. I decided to try SnGs and found that I enjoyed them much more due to the strategy involved. I have played 155 5+1s and have finished ITM 47.7% of the time. 1st- 29x 2nd-23x and 3rd -22x. My bankroll is over 500$ now (I placed 2nd in a 5+1 mtt 270 people) as well. I have played 14 10 +1 but am only ITM 35.7% and I am down 35$. Was more but I finshed 2nd in two recent ones. I am a little leary of making the jump to full time 10 +1 due to my clear lack of performance. Right now every time I place 1st in a 5+1 I go play a 10+1 and keep playing until I finish Oout of the money. Should I jump up full time to increase my roi or just keep doing what im doing know. I have become so comfortable playing 5+1 that I sometimes make poor plays because I know its only 6$ and the variance at this level is low. What are your thoughts. Thanks and maybe I just need to grow a pair like the squirrel in boondocks avatar?

    well thats a must.

You should move up for no other reason that your rake gets cut in half. It may not seem like much but considering you played 155 5+1s thats like 77 bucks that more ahead you would be playing 10s assumming the same win rate. I know you mentioned you havent had the same win rate but really I think you should if you keep at it. Everything I have ever heard says there is very little difference between 5 and 10s. Gotta take advantage of the rake deal or switch to a site where the 5s are 5+.50 which actually is fairly common.

definately jump up to full time 10+1. The skill level in the 10+1 games is no better than in the 5+1 games and you are paying half as much in entry fees. Your 14 10+1 sample size is way too small to see how you really perform at that level. I have a feeling that if you are doing that well at 5+1, you will have no problems making more money in the 10+1 tournaments.

If you can't play comfortably at $10 because of the stakes, then move to PS $5+.50. You're not going to play your best if worrying that $10 is too much. I agree though, the rake at $5+1 keeps me away until I get a Stars(or some other) account. Occasionally it would be nice to just play a Fiver. 14 SNGs is not really a good sample size, but it sounds like you have the skills to play at the $10 if you're comfortable doing so.

FWIW, I haven't found much difference between $5 and $10 PP SNGs, and really even up to $30 SNGs not that much difference, but maybe slightly better play.

Out of curiosity, folks, do you think $200 is enough to start doing 10+1?

I like to have enough in account to play 20 tourneys or so, but that's just my arbitrary line.

    Yes.

Alot of people say 10-buy-ins.. I like 20 because a bad run @ 10 can put you into a weak tight mode.
