Daily Tourney Tip #2
This One come Via DavSimon
How to effectively play from the blinds. Specifically how to combat blind stealing when you are middle to short stacked. I seem to be running into this more often. I am the BB or the SB and have crappy hole cards and someone raises from the button - or just before the button...repeatedly. You know they don't have a hand each and every time you are in the blinds, but you are not in a position (cards or chips wise) to really push back. They way I see it...
-You can lie down and hope for a good hand one of these times to push it right back in their face.
-You can just call off 1/4 or 1/3 of your stack and pray for a good flop.
-You can reraise AI and hope it was a bluff, or they do not think they have good odds to make the call.
*Note this advice is based on late game tourney play not early or middle rounds*

If you don't have good hole cards, lay it down. If you are short stacked and someone raises which would make a call 1/3 of your stack and you push, their mentality is "Hmmm only this much more to maybe knock this guy out" Specially against a large stack. Your bluff at their bluff is ruined and you are out. Or they have a good hand and you are out. Put yourself in a position to control the game. Don't play into someone elses game.
Now if you don't have crappy hole cards, maybe you are dealt a KJ offsuit, you need to take your chances when you get them. Never let yourself be blinded out.
-You can just call off 1/4 or 1/3 of your stack and pray for a good flop.
Never Ever call, you are effectively removing half your chance to win. If you are going to go for it, go for it or you fold.
*Exception, and one to use rarely but can come in handy. You have a Monster AA KK (I hate KK BTW ) you can attempt to smooth call and slow play your hand. 90% of the time the person who raised with again shoot off a bet to steal down the pot.
