Folding when you don't even have 1x BB

Here is one of those rare examples where folding might make sense no matter what you're holding.

The key here is that the other short stack just calls with half his stack, with the chip leader acting after him. Pretty weak move. Then the chip leader raises him all in as expected. At this point I know that he probably has a hand, and feel like there is a good chance he is ahead. There is also no chance the short stack is going to fold now.
With the cards unknown, I have a 50/50 shot at the short stack losing. Those odds are much better than my Q high holding up 3 handed.
I fold my hand knowing that I don't even have enough to make the SB in the next hand. However I feel like there is a good chance I will get a free pass to 3rd.
