I'm not too sure about my play on this one, laddertime appeared to be a player who would overvalue tptk, but I think my out of position all in was living kind of dangerously. Comments?

If you read that you would get a call from a weaker hand on the turn the allin is OK. You have the outs to the diamonds if the guy turns trips and since there is a good chance he'll call you with a weaker hand, it's ok. With the huge flop bet, you're really stuck on the turn though.

What bet can you make to see if he has you beat that wont pot commit you to any raise? You had no other move but allin unless you wanted to check fold the overpair to an opponent who you said valued TPTK.

Just a thought...I think pre-flop you were ok with them maybe a bit underagressive but I'll switch up my betting style w/ A's pre-flop depending on the players at the table and other intangables. That being said even if you went crazy with the A's pre-flop chances are the other guy would call w/ the A/Ko. I might have been a bit worried w/ the call after the flop and then turn pairing the board leaving all sorts of nasty situations and decisions to make.

I think a small bet, cause anything bigger puts you to a decision to go all-in, would've been better as to feel out if he either has a set or made his own flush/boat. If he goes over the top then you got the decision to make, all-in or fight another day.

It seems like you had a good read on him anyway and you had outs to the nut flush (provided there wasn't a boat there). So all-in-all it was a good play. Gambling a bit but still a good play.

A small bet will accomplish nothing. He'll raise on a bluff, flat call on a draw, flat call on a monster, practically never fold. You get not information out of that bet. So he's put in a real bind.

Yeah has I was reviewing my post I saw yours up there already -rilla. Now has I think about it more your right a bet of all-in on the turn is the right play...still a scary situation though.

Completely agree with you, but as for what bet I can make, with an overpair on a slightly coordinated board, I needed to overbet because there was a lot of chasing at this table and I wanted to know where I stood, a 10x, even suited was not gonna call that flop bet so my only realistic fear was a slowplayed KK or K10 both of which were unlikely from my read, he woulda pushed preflop w/ KK and then this would be a bad beat story. I guess this is one of those "I'm 70% sure I've got him covered" situations, Because I was sweating the full-house when he called my all-in.

Yah, I understand the huge flop bet at a real fishy table. I like to make it with uber hands becuase the fish *fear* getting bluffed out of a pot when they have any sort of hand. I agree with the flop but in making that flop bet you've already decided your fate for the turn. I don't hate anything about this hand.

If I were in your spot I would be wondering if I played it right also... so I will not comment on "right or wrong."
It seems really overaggressive on the flop, but assuming the read you had on him is right - it is fine. It's hard for me to see how the guy can call your $10 flop bet with TPTK.

I think the biggest thing to realize on this hand is that he's the one making loose calls, and you are the one setting him up to do it. Well played, a slight gamble, but it worked out.

One more thing.... did you just show up at the table? Both balance is at $25. A lot of times people will think you are full of sh*t when you first step in and make a big bet.

I had been there about an hour, he just sat down, coincidentally though, I had just made a loose call putting me to 15$ so I reloaded to 25 hoping to double up. lol I guess it worked out.
