bad bet

What would you have bet in this hand? I wa in the small blind and everyone folded and I caught a str8 flush and went all in. I don't think I played this right because if he had the 10h I was done and if he something else like two pair I could have gotten more chips.

Should I have put out 300 or 400 bet instead of the all in?

No problem. Fold to his 50 bet on the flop.

But seriously, assuming you do call with the gutshot, and so on to the river... I'd say maybe put out a smaller bet, one that looks like you're trying to steal but are afraid to commit your stack to the steal. If he raises you all in, you are still going to have to call it.
