Well missed the gauntlet for finals and xmas shopping. Decided to hop in a $5+1 mtt at pokerroom. At the same time playing a sng at empire. I end up winning the SnG and started to focus on the MTT. To myself I thought well here goes nothing. 5th hand get dealt KK someone pushed all-in with AQ o I call and double up. Then I sit back until I catch some cards.

Made it to the money pretty easily basically folded my way into the money. Got lucky many times but managed to get to the final table.

I had big stack to my immediate right who was deamed calling station.

I have $19k in chips big stack has $180K. I am in the small blind w/ blinds $1500/$3000. I raise to $8k Big stack calls. I have .

Flop came . Since I was down to about 14k here he was going to call anything. I fired a nice size bet. He calls. Turn I push all in and of course big stack turns over .

River didnt help me as a came off.

So I ended up 6th out of 243 people winning $61 to my dismay. This was my second final table at pokerroom. This by far my best showing.

With that AK hand I was mad because he would have called if I pushed AI. So I took my winnings and went to bed at 4AM!!!!

Congrats, very nice finish. Not sure how you folded a 3,000 stack into a 19,000 stack, mabee you could show me that trick sometime.

I would have plated this differently but speaking strictly about the turn play, I think you may have wanted to consider laying down. You said after the flop you fired a nice size bet. I am guessing around 6,000, leaving you with 8,000. With an open ended str8 on the board I woudn't be gambling for the rest of my chips with overs and a gutshot in this particular situation.

You are SB so have at least 1 more orbit before you even have to consider getting good hole cards, steal a blind or 2 when people are weak and coast until someone else busts..do your best not to tangle with the big stacks. Survival ITM is more valuable then chasing dead money. Just my 2 cents.
