Default playing the BB with a rag flop you hit...

Homegame NL tourney -- blinds at 50/100

    My stack ~T1.5K
    EP stack ~T3K

I am dealt in the BB

    EP calls
    MP calls
    LP calls
    SB folds
    I check

    Flop comes

    I thow out a pot-sized bet T500
    get called by EP
    rest of table folds

First time I've played with EP
Read to this point only about 15 hands into the tourney...
will play any A but gets away if he doesn't hit something
didn't raise preflop so I figured him for a weak A, something like A2/A4/A7

    Turn

I take a look at my stack ~T900 and check
    he bets T500
    its either push or fold
    I fold

I could have bet for information on the turn but a half pot bet of T500 would have committed me to any raise where I would be behind pretty badly even if he only had A7

Would you guys have played this any differently?

Later on in the tourney he bet AK to the river unimproved so my read may have been incomplete at that point which is why I wanted to see what you guys would have done with the info at hand... Knowing that, I think I had about a 60% chance of him playing overs (KQ, QJ, etc...) and should have pushed after the second 2 fell and taken my chances to double up. Any comments?

In your position and based on your read, I would have pushed the turn after he bet, or lead out with a bet at first.

Yeah I agree, the more I think about it the more I wish I pushed when that 2 hit...

One of my weaknesses is playing aggressive with a bad kicker. I think I am going force myself to play more weak hands to improve my reading abilities in situations like this.
