Default $1/$2 AKo vs. reraise from TAG, cold call from fish

I would typically shove this without too much thought but I had a feeling I had little fold equity and at least 2 of my outs were gone.

I raise to $12 UTG with :Ac: :Kd: with $225 behind. UTG+1 has a stack of $500 and calls, he's a LAGGY player, his range is a lot of weaker aces, broadways and small PPs. A tightass with about $200 on the button reraises to $35 -- I'm pretty certain he has a pair he isn't folding, and with the cards in my hand and the likely cards in the hands of the callers, he has JJ-QQ almost all the time here. A fish in the BB with $150 calls -- he probably has a decent hand but almost always stuff I crush -- AX/KQ type hands.

UTG+1 will probably fold to a shove, BB is probably calling with most of his range.

Given that I'm probably behind 60-40 or 2-1 to the button and I'll stack the fish if I make top pair, is calling the most profitable play?

I fold. I like a re-raise more than a flat because they won't give you enough action with worse hands after the flop.

Hmm, I suppose I am being swayed by the resutls but I'm pretty sure the BB will pay off with worse and possibly UTG+1.

Do you know what this is? This is damn sexy!!!

It is such a simple yet great analysis. I wonder how useful it is playing at 1/2 though?

Personally I like a re-raise than a fold here and start looking to further range my opponent and if i can start to get some real value out of it.

It's live 1/2. No one is thinking about ranges. You should be playing like 99.99999% of your hands in whatever way you think makes you the most money given the firehose level of infomation spew and predictable errors.

well, results: I called the $23, UTG+1 called, the flop came AKx, the BB shoved with AQ and I shoved, UTG+1 folded and the button folded.

5 Cards to make your hand, if you flat you're likely only getting 3 pulls for them. Fish isn't paying off most Kxx flops.

Most AK vs AK/AQ engagements end without a showdown.

I hear ya, HU vs. button I think it's a fold but getting 4-1 when I'm sure I'm dominating BB and probably UTG+1, I thought call was best option.

I think you did well with the call.... I think you have to back yourself to play the hand well after the flop and get a further read on your opponent unless he is an absolte ROCK who is only doing this with Aces and maybe kings. I probably would've Hollywood called the shove though?
